Isn't that why everyone is arguing and wanting to spread his faith? I guess we all like to follow the norm, wether Atheists or Theists or whatever. If Christianity becomes the norm, Christians will be more at ease. Atheists will feel isolated. If Atheism becomes the norm, Christians will feel hurt.
It's a journey to emotional well-being. Don't you think?

Many people (groups / religions /cults) are not comfortable with differences in people. If we are different, then I have to learn about you and your beliefs so I can be considerate and tolerant of your needs and points of view. I would also have to acceot the idea that I may be incorrect in my own way of thinking, even though whatever choices I make are okay, for me; just as your choices are okay for you.

So if we all think the same, act the same, believe the same, wear the same clothes, like the same music, ad nauseam, we'll all be happy little entities without a care in the world.

Riiiiiiiiiiiight.

Americans are guaranteed freedom of as well as from religion. When a person is brought up from early childhood in a certain religion (or without religion), he/she is likely to believe what he/she learned. The major problem right now on Planet Earth seems to be that a particular group wants to spread its version of religion throughout the world and will do anything to attain this goal. My opinion is that we would probably be better off with no religion at all.

A religion is also a moral belief. I'd like other people to do the things I believe to be morally right, yes.

Unfortunately we disagree in our understanding of what is moral, thus the need for tolerance (agreement that the value of civil harmony exceeds the value of correcting the immoral things that others do).

I agree for most, but disagree for myself. I couldn't care less if another person ever believed the way I do. I believe it and that's all that matters to me. In fact, I refuse to take responsibility for the spirituality of others. That is for them to decide.
