I'll try to keep this brief. Quite simply do you think that religious leaders, for all monotheistic religions actually pray and usher in Judgement Day? I ask this quite simply because of all the Doomsayers in the world. A lot of the monotheistic religions have Revelations about the End of Days, and it seems to me quite a few people try to glamorize and hark on these dark times. Christianity is especially keen on playing off the Hell and Brimstone, and Doomsday charade.
Sometimes I really think there are people out there who try and speed along the process. Basically, extremists that try to herald in the End of Days just to prove that their religion was right and everyone else's was wrong. Mostly it's the monotheists that are notorious for this type of behaviour. Personally if you want to usher in the End of Days, you'd be better off just killing yourself...but anyway, what do you guys think? Religion trying to fulfill it's own prophecies at the cost of humanity?

I did not intend to offend the Christians that would be answering this question. Monotheism is simply the belief of one God, no other Gods leading up to this one God. I personally believe that God exists in each and every one of us, and am not certain whether or not he even exists anymore. I think his Creation of everything wore him pretty thin and he is hoping we all return to him sometime to revitalize him..he loves us all equally. No one can place ownership on God, and that is what most monotheistic religions try to do...place ownership on him, which is totally against God's Will...in my opinion. I'm glad there are a few extremeists responding, acting like I'm an atheist..assuming...they are the true throrns in Christianity's side.. A God that encourages hate and murder, and not love and forgiveness deserves to have his God-rights revoked in my opinion.

I agree completely... although for a plenty easier reason.... The bible says we can't recognize the day nor the hour and that it's going to come like a thief interior the evening. SO, if the "stable e book" says we can't recognize... then i've got self belief we can't recognize. each and each time the top comes.. this is going to in all threat be on an afternoon, no person suspects... an afternoon not greater significant then the different day. perhaps 2PM on some idle Tuesday. Secondly, as a Christian (Catholic) what does it remember? are not we as Christians think to be continually arranged for the 2nd coming, Christ's return? are not all of us think to be following God and in communion with him..as a result what does it remember if the final day is right this moment, the next day, or 30 years from now? Thirdly, as a Catholic Christian, i'm heavily skeptical of ANY new interpretations or prognosis of scripture which looked as though it may elude the 1st 2,000 years of Christianity. truly one's which basically the author got here upon and are not supported by utilising the mainstream. IF this recommendation replaced into truly meant for us to recognize... how, why did it flow disregarded by utilising all previous generations? Why did no longer the Apostles straight away show in this? Why replaced into it embedded for under Harold camping out to locate? Does this glorify God or Harold camping out? Does the guy providing this recommendation have something to learn from it? (speaking engagements, books, web content, community ministry, etc. ??) finally, the form of predictions with reference to the top cases that have been incorrect, thus far, is a hundred%. thus far, there has no longer been a single precise prediction, as a result the probabilities of any of those being precise is narrow.. statistically. His prediction looks selection very like a Jehovah Witness prediction with reference to the "final era" which has been expected and shown incorrect a minimum of two cases, if not greater. in my view - As a Christian -- A) what does it remember? B) what makes us think of THIS guy is stable, verses everyone else, all previous generations, and the Apostles themselves? C) what's the statistical threat that he's stable given previous "end of days" predictions?

Fear religion.
Fear religion teaches that God is sadistic and He will punish you in an ever burning hell fire if you don't make the grade.
But what is the truth of the matter?
Request the free booklet Hell Is A Lie! from 8v@8v.com
It is an eye opener.
There is no need to be afraid.
And the end?
We are at least 4 years away from the end, probably longer.
When you see the 2 witnesses prophesying in Jerusalem then you will know we have three and a half years left before the end.

A FEW might try, but it won't work until it's intended to. Nothing can speed it up or slow it down. I agree with them that it would be nice to be raptured up to heaven now rather than wait and die through the pain of death and all, but it seems that if we lived one word, we might live the whole sentence. No one knows when it will happen.
Sometimes things get tough, and people want to give in. They want death, or the end of the world to come along and save them. It's a natural process.
There is no way we, as human beings, can guarentee a speeding up the end of the world.
As for religious leaders doing it? It is probably a minority who are getting fed up with the world. The others will probably be trying to save others while they still can.
Sorry for the mixed bias-ness of my answer but I hope it helps!

In fact the time is coming very soon that the majority mankind will not believe on the 2nd coming of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST or the end of human govt when the reign of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST will take over the govt from human govt. But the wrath of GOD to come preceding the end of human govt will be a welcomed event by the peoples of GOD but it will be a terrifying event to the wicked men or evil men. But is quite different to say of the end of the world. It is because the end of this earth and the whole universe will take 15 billion years more of the coming kingdom of heaven before the old earrh and old heaven will be melted away by the coming KIngdom of GOD-THE NEW EARTH AND THE NEW HEAVEN which is our true country as we are merely pilgrims and sojourners on earth. On one hand, if the coming kingdom will come very soon the better. Because in the KIngdom of heaven no one will say I am ill and goods for the angel-like mankind will come like a flooding stream. And there will be peace in the whole universe as THE LORD JESUS CHRIST will reign in righteousness, justice and lovingkindness over all the earth and the universe among the angel-like mankind. THANKS GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD;GLORIFY GOD;HONOR GOD;LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD.

I am a Christian and we are supposed to "long for His appearing". We count our life as crap and pray for Jesus to appear. No man knows the hour but Christians who read the Bible and hear what God is trying to tell them know the signs and they are happening now. Yes, they've been happening more and more but that's how it's supposed to be...like a woman in labor. I suppose someday, Christians will be accused of choreographing all of the prophecies or something like that. We will be hated and abused because of our faith. Still, "Even so, Lord Jesus, come." By the way, killing yourself is not an option for the serious Christian but nice try. hehe.

Are you familiar with the phrases
"Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven"?
Jesus and the early church believed that the end of the world was coming in their lifetimes. If his followers don't pray for the arrival of the Apocalypse any more, I would like them to explain why not.

I don't think anyone is praying for the end of the world. I think radical religionists are attempting to frighten people into doing the right things. It doesn't seem to be working, given the horrors the world is going through even as we write this.

You sure like that word "monotheistic", don't you? Most Christians, who realize that their real "home" is in heaven, do long for the day that Jesus returns. On that day, every person on earth, you included, will fall on their knees and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, afterall.

The world will end with rabid sunday keeping "christians" imposing religious laws. Then they get severely punished by God and the poor innocent people are taken to safety on another planet.

Praying for the end would be useless anyways. God will do everything in his time. He alone knows the time. You should study. It will save you from false assumptions.
