Yes it is hard to be a christian, It takes time to learn and there will allways be some difficultys to struggel with.
the frist thing is to except Jesus as your personal savior and ask for his forgiveness, he will forgive you of everything and he understands that we are only human, he knows we will make mastakes again. Most everything that God ask of us is Love, if we revolve everything we do and say around love you will pretty much be where he want's you, he dose want you to read his word and grow, his word is our shild against our emiteys so it protects us. Forgiveness is sometimes hard and we need to ask God to help us with it, but its much like excersizeing the more you pratice the better you get at it.
But to forgive is very imporant, God said he will forgive us as we have forgiven others and I don't know about you but everything I have done I need all the grace and forgiveness I can get when I face God. I think what helps me is to remember no one desirves to go to Heaven, we are only saived by his grace and everytime I need to forgive someone I have to look back at all the things I did and want forgiveness for. As for being looked down on for being a christian, if you haven't yet you will be. The closer the time comes when Jesus returns the more christians will be hated. Jesus said all of his desiples were persucited and hated and the world hated him, so if you live for him you will be to, but that is a blessing when you live for him and people hate you for that it is just a sine that Jesus is liveing in you.
It will always be hard to be a christian but this life is short and it's not about us, It's about God and I would rather go through a hard time in this world and lose everything than lose what I have in Jesus that will last forever and ever. No one knows when his return will be so always be ready and live for him as if every day may be your last. May God bless you in you walk.
Spell check is not working- forgive any misspelled words- it's not my strong point.

We are all struggling with something. Each christian has one or two sins that they are prone to falling into. That's why we ask for Jesus's help, strength and grace.
As for the works clause, we are not expected to work our way into heaven. But if we love God, we will do things that are pleasing to Him, and we will try to represent His character to others.
Yes, being a christian is much harder than not being one (because the road is narrow), but if you stay in the word and get good christian friends to help you along, then it won't feel like such a struggle.
I also recommend the radio station Moodie Bible network. I listen to it everyday and it's excellent, without seeming too preachy.

The Spirit of God doesn't demand much of us, but He does demand that we have Faith in the Cross of Christ.(Jn 16:13-14) For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death(Rom.8:2) The reason that the Christian is in trouble in the first place, is because he doesn't understand how the Spirit works. He needs the Spirit's help, and needs it greatly, however if we evidence faith in anything else other than the Cross of Christ as it regards our victory, the Holy Spirit simply will not help us. In fact, that is "the Law" If we function within this "Law" which is actually "the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus" which refers to what Christ did at the Cross, which means that the Cross must ever be the object of our Faith, then we will walk in victory. "For by grace and ye saved through Faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the Gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast (Eph.2:8-9)If we try to live this life by trusting in our own strength we will fail. "Walking after the Flesh" (Rom 8:1). Walking after the Spirit is placing our faith and trust in the Cross of Christ.(Rom.8:1-2)

No one in the history of the world was perfect except Jesus Christ.
Christians are not perfect ..only forgiven.
God's plan of salvation is wisdom to the believers but foolishness to the unbelievers
As you believe..so shall you reecive..
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.
You are not the first to say that it is not easy to be a Christian
It is never easy to do the right thing ...just have faith that God loves you and pray that you will have a greater understanding of how God can improve your life if you give Him a chance.

FRANKNESS answer "NO!"
If Satan were to have a box in which to store his devious tricks that he uses to keep people from accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour, this one must surely be his favorite and the most effective.
Read the following Scriptures which announce to all, that if a sinner realizes his spiritual condition... will admit to himself and to God his need to be saved... will then repent of his sins... calling upon the Name of Jesus in FAITH to save his soul from Helll... he will spend eternity with God in Heaven. Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12, John 3:16, John 3:18-19, John 3:36, John 5:24; Galatians 3:26, and Romans 10:9-13.

Yes, it is hard. This is why Jesus says "take up your cross and follow me." The cross is not an easy way. We have to go against our flesh our nature.
It can be a process. Sometimes, no matter how much we want to give up our sinful ways, we can't. But the good news is we don't have to struggle in this alone. This is why Jesus is the savior.
Begin by praying each day and offering your day to God. When you feel yourself losing your temper or cursing etc. stop and remember you are offending God and hurting him. Think about the people you are judging and realize that Jesus loves them as much as he loves you.
I'm Catholic and this is where confession helps a lot. You can go to the priest and confess your sins. Once you are absolved...you feel freed and that's a good feeling. This helps keep you accountable and keeps these offenses in the front of your mind. When you find yourself giving into these temptations again...offer up a prayer. Tell God you are sorry.
Unforgiveness towards your mother is extremely harmful...to you. No matter what she did, you need to remember she too is a child of God. She is imperfect and makes mistakes. I've struggled with unforgiveness myself and it's difficult. I always think about the Lord's Prayer and when I say "forgive me my trespasses as I forgive those that trespass against me." Whew...I sure don't want God keeing unforgiveness in his heart against me...so I need to practice forgiveness. But we are human beings and can only go so far. We need God to help us by giving us the grace to forgive. Offer your hurt and pain up to God....offer up the suffering your mother has caused you. Ask God to give you forgiveness for your mother and you should pray for her soul.
Following Christ isn't easy, but once you commit to that path and truly see yourself taking those steps, you will find that it becomes easier.

I am not a christian as you well know. I feel that the term christian is just a coat people wear to cover up their true self. This is glaringly obvious in your case.
Without the aid of a guidline for hatred ( aka...the bible )instilled into my concious, i find it easy to live a good life, not hard because i am living by my own rules, when it comes to being a good person, not some egotistical moron in the skies rules.

this depends on what your goal is and if you are willing to give up limiting things for something limitless. All negatives limit your growth. And of course works arent easily defined as just charity.Works can be defined by ordinances performed under authoritive guidelines etc.etc
we are talking about a life long committment not a last minute turn around

Just focus on being saved and allowing Jesus to live through you by His Holy Spirit...all the good works will come and will be acceptable to God.
Be careful with works being a "means" to get to heaven. The Bible does teach that we will be rewarded , but salvation is free...a gift. If you try to work for it, it ceases to be a gift.
Like the one answer already given, it's not just hard, by our own strength, it's IMPOSSIBLE. But I/we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Peace.

We are saved by GRACE!
Grace means that GOD has freely forgiven us. We did not earn our salvation by works!
We are saved 100% by GOD's grace that we accept thru faith.
Now if we really do have faith, then I expect that we should grow and bear fruit. People should be able to see works because of my faith. If I have no works then my faith is dead. If I don't really have faith, then I have not truly accepted GOD's grace.
But the Christian life in not hard. JESUS did all the work. Jesus said, "IT IS FINISHED!" You can't add one iota to His work on the cross, so stop trying.
The accuser of the brethren is satan.
GOD is not accusing you. GOD says that you are forgiven!
