A hangover is caused by alcohol withdrawal, the effect of the alcohol leaving your system, so yes- a small amount of alcohol will help slow the process down, but if the hangover is really bad and you are throwing up, then no, wont help, you wont absorp any of it. Coffee, water, tylenol- and sleep, lots of sleep- is the only real cure. There is a powdered drink mix called emergen-C, it is fizzy when you mix with water and has lots of vitamin c and antioxidents that actually works pretty well too. Good luck!

Hair of the dog only delays it. I've had a lot of hangovers in my time and the only real cure is abstinence. Having said that we all know we shouldn't drink too much but life has a way of sending us to the bottle from time to time to forget our woes! Take 2 paracetemol tablets with lots of water before you go to bed, sleep most of the next day if you can and then go for a really brisk walk to clear your head. The thought of a walk is probably the last thing you want to do but it is definitely better than sitting around!

Drink a pint of water, two paracetamol, and have some toast, or I always like McCoys crisps. "A hair of the dog that bit you" works because a hangover is partly caused by impurities in the drink you had last night- topping up the alcohol in your system competes with these impurities, so your hangover is less severe, but lasts longer. Be careful if you need to drive anywhere today though. Best advice is turn off the computer and curl up in bed.

I don't wish to advertise the product too much but drinking a bottle of Lucozade Sport will sort you out in minutes because it hydrates your body and replaces the lost glucose.
A bottle of this and a multivitamin (or B6 and B12) should put you on good stead. Have yourself a nice fry-up and then you're ready to do it all again.
Of course, there is no sure-fire hangover cure, but I find this to be the best for me. Next time, just drink less booze and/or have a glass of water before you go to bed...

My friend swears by it, but I swear it just gets her drunk again, so she forgets about the hangover.
The only cure for me is drink water and stay in bed, but if you have to get up, have a fry and water, water, water.
An apple, if you can face it, is supposed to be good as well
