Henke,
Prodestanism (as you call it) was started by the King of England to seperate us from the Pope and the Rule of the Roman Catholic Church. It is our proud history, which gave birth to
Democracy as we know it today.

Excellent point. Many simply do not wish to recognize the fact that for many Orthodox Muslims- it is a transnational, trans-cultural, trans-racial religion that answers supremely to Allah alone.
Thus, therein lies the fundamental difference between Christianity an Islam- Christianity has had the benefit of Reformation- Islam has not even attempted it.
Christianity has reformed itself to allow separation of Curch and State, whereas as Islam under a Sharia interpretation provides all fundamental doctrine required for governance- for example Islamic jurisprudence.

Iran provides the best example of a truly Islamic state, to a lesser extent Saudi Arabia. All aspects of governance are dictated by Al-Q'Uranic interpretation of Sharia law.

There exists no country in the world aside from the Islamic nations which rely on their holy texts as the fundamental and single precept for governance.

Clearly so, as there are Muslims born and bred in the UK, and indeed White Muslims who are as much "pure" Brits as anyone else.

Even if you think that Islam is incompatible with British values, whatever they are, that wouldn't stop a Muslim being British; there are after all British paedophiles, British druggies, British gangsters, etc, presumably you don't think that these are particularly British values, but the people concerned don't stop being British do they?

Anyway, I don't think that Islam is so opposite to British traditions. British life has always been diverse, and Islam also has always had many strands. For every Muslim terrorist, I could find you a BNP racist thug. It's just life, I'm afraid.

What bothers me is that I want to say yes it is possible to be a Muslim and British, but we hear so much of the fanatics that I find it difficult to believe. not because my mind is closed (i am a practising Christian) but an apparent lack of commitment to this country by the so called spiritual leaders here.
I hope I am being unfair, but will need a lot of convincing

Is their such a thing as a British roman catholic-Jew- Hindu-Protestant-Mormon-Evangelist-Buddhist Of coarse There is these are all international religions and so is Islam are you saying that they are less British because they worship Islam. We are a Mongrel Nation and have all manner of different religions most emanating from different nations. We allow Satanism-witchcraft-Druid worship This is the consequence of living in a free society So the answer to your question is a resounding yes and the answer to the second part of your question is absolutely not and any other reply would mean we have negated our British Heritage to embrace a society of small minds and religious bigots

Yes, there is. British Muslims are British citizens, who are also practising Muslims. Understand? Why should they give up their faith - we are a secular nation, and unlike many oppressive regimes around the world (yes, some of them Muslim) we don't dictate the way people in this country think.

Why not ask "Is there really such a thing as a British Roman Catholic? If they were truly British, wouldn't they have to give up their faith and culture?"

I know, it's because RCs are usually nice white folk, like ourselves. (That's irony, for the hard of understanding)

In the UK people are free to either practise or not practise any religion they wish.If you were truly British yourself surely you would know that. These freedoms have been hard won over centuries. Why should we give them up now because of a few racist bigots.

Is Protestantism not truly a German faith. Do a search on Martin Luther.
So by your reasoning how can you be truly British if you are a Protestant would you not have to be pagan
