My best friend has a disorder called PICA. For those of you who don't know pica is an eating disorder which causes you to eat non-food items, her item of choice is toilet tissue. The thing is she is really worried that it is affecting her period. She has told me before that her period is irregular but now she says that it is crazier than normal and is staying for a month and a half to two months. She dosn't have health insurance so she hasn't been to the doctor yet. I just wanted to know if anyone could help me because I am really getting worried and I'm hoping that there is nothing seriously wrong with her insides or something. So can someone please help me out........

PICA would not affect her cycle. But she should go to the health department ASAP. She could be hemmoraging internally.

I suffered from PICA during my pregnancy, but toilet tissue??
Is she substituting that for food? Has she lost weight? She needs to see a doctor, otherwise the stress of her worrying will just interfere with her periods even more, regardless of what she's eating. PICA is very strange, it's definately a lack of something in the diet..and it is curable. Again, she needs to see a doctor...good luck!
