I had carpal tunnel surgery years ago, and I thought it was a build up of scar tissue in my wrist. It is burning and tender to touch, and swollen with a small thickened area where you would check a pulse. I'm letting my doctor know Monday. Just want to know your thoughts.

You can get a blood clot anywhere. I wouldn't wait until Monday, I'd have a doctor look at this immediatly. Some blood clots can be life threatening, especially if it's a deep vein thrombosis. The clot could break off and go to your lung causing a pulmonary embolism. It could go to your heart causing a heart attack, or your brain causing a stroke.

Your clot might not be of a life threatening nature but I wouldn't be able to say. You must see a doctor ASAP.

Minuteblue could be right. A blood clot in any extremity is always of concern especially after surgery. I would go to the ER if you can't get you doctor, make sure you either know your record of surgery of who did it and where.
