Ok this is a long story but here it goes I really like this guy and me and him have been hanging out and were friends well I have known him and his family for like 6 years and just got back in touch with him recently. Well he has said that he likes me but it's weird because our families have known each other for long and there have been issues between them but I don't care about that. Well he is 21 and my parents wouldn't let me date him but they changed their minds. He doesn't know that I'm allowed to date him now. My dad told me that the guy only wanted to be friends and now I'm confused. Because he told me something different he said that he wanted to be more than friends. What should I do? (I know confusing story right?) Well need your help anyway.

Eh, it's not confusing at all. He told your dad a lie to put his mind at ease . . . if your dad thought that guy was going to try to date you, he wouldn't have allowed you to get to know him at all. Anyway, go on and talk to the guy. Explain that you can now have a relationship with him. That's about all you can do now. Good night!

well, first explain to your parents that you like him and its your choice to date him, then together with this guy and hang out
