First we need to learn to accept ourselves in order to love others, or even like them. We should try and be honest with ourselves, treat ourselves with respect. Try to love ourselves. Then, we can work on doing the same for others without losing ourselves in the process. People won't always respond in kind so you must have these qualities for yourself, otherwise, you will feel needy.
