Academic capability, learning and intellect are very important whether one is Hindu, Christian, Buddhist or any faith.

In ancient India, wasn't the gathering of knowledge only reserved mainly for the Brahmins and some to the Ksatriyas? If it was that useless, why is the top caste of India so protective of it? Also the Brahmin caste is the caste of Priests...

Some the most loved deities in Hinduism deals with study, intellect and knowledge. Isn't Ganapati and Saraswati the epitome of all that?

Even the religious and spiritual need academic books. Most of Hindu, Buddhist and Taoist literature ( religious or otherwise )as far as I know, are Academic in nature... they deal with Medicine, Science, Philosophy, a Study of Nature (and its mechanics) and even Mathematics.

Your statement query is incomplete in its logic and theory. A lot Academia started off as possibilities or theory and later proven, became science.

A lot of Eastern spiritual works are what most scientists consider to be Pseudo-Sciences until they can prove it with retraceble results. eg. Ayurveda, Accupuncture, Chinese Herbal Lore and Medicines are some examples

Actually a lot of experts in the sciences discredit the 'big bang theory' considering that it is rather ludicrous. Does that mean people must then jump on the creationist wagon or discredit evolution? Certainly not. Don't be so ignorant.

As for your questions, ever hear of philosophy? Philosophy is certainly an academic pursuit that attempts to answer these and many other questions.

Hush, hush now. Anti-intellectual sentiments are not doing much for your evangelical pursuits. Let's assume you are Christian and we can work from that reality, can we argue that doing the work of turning people off of Christianity, like you are doing right now, is in fact, the devil's work? Are you a tool of Satan? You would be right for the job.

At least we have multiple proof of how we came about up to this day. U have faith and ignorance. U fear the truth thats why u choose to believe in a religion.I live a happy moral life and thats good enough for me. U don't when u judge all for one.

Well, dear, I think you and academics need to see each other more often. For starters, your grammar is deplorable. Also, if you'd actually do some research, you'll find that the land of Academia makes a whole lot of sense.

"How come a blast can create solar system?" Oh, please. Don't you know ANYTHING about science?

Hinduism does not condemn atheists to hell like some other faiths...we respect them for their reasoning and logics even if we dont agree with them

Moreover, is a believer any better when he repeats scriptures like a parrot ?

if without finding the truth, a believer believes and athiest rejects...both are incomplete/imperfect

Many atheists have already asked themselves and others these questions many times before, otherwise they would not choose to leave their faiths. Most atheists were not raised atheist. Why don't more people who belong to a religion question these things? They often just blindly follow a faith because they are riddled with fear.

Guy you are making a basic error; associating only atheists with academics. They are not the majority going to college, in science, in medicine,...etc.

There is nothing wrong with academics, as long as the scholar does not become puffed up with arrogant pride. The counterpart to holier-than-thou is smarter-than-thou.

You have a very inaccurate and narrow view of what atheists are like.

How about you actually talk to some of us before you go making pronouncements about our lives and values?
