My boyfriend who speaks English and Spanish always calls me "un amor." I can speak Spanish pretty well and I know it's literal translation...but my friend also told my boyfriend "tu novia es un amor." "A love" or "one love" really isn't used in English...so what does this mean? Exactly that?

It would be equivalent to saying in English, "You're such a sweetheart" or "such a sweetie." It really doesn't mean much, just that you're a nice person.

i ll try to help u, ok?!
i know its not used in english, but its normal to some others languages, as spanish.
when ur boyfriend say ur "un amor" he meant u r very very nice, loveble, gentle, polite, etc. anyway, he can mean, besides all those qualities ur pretty, gourgeous... great inside and outside!
so, when ur boyfriend calls u un amor, be happy! answer him with a kiss!
i hope i have helped u!
see u!

Why don't you just ask your bf instead of random people at night on the Internet?
