Yes. We should pray that the eyes of our understanging be enlightened to know the hope of His calling, the riches of His inheritance in us and the exceeding greatness of His power given to us (Ephesians 1:18,19). As we do so pray the promises will come to pass in our lives. Another way is to pray in the Spirit and allow the Spirit to give you insight and revelation of what you are praying.

Yes, I pray for insight and understanding. One of my favorite prayers says:
Lord please lead me from the unreal to the real. Lead me from darkness to light. Lead me from death to immortality. May there be peace.
