'To wish', as a verb, in Arabic can be:
رغب -> ra-ghe-ba.
مني -> ma- ne-ya.
Notice that in Arabic, normally, past tenses are roots of the words, so both of the above words are past tense also.

I think mona means wish. an old friend from lebanon was named mona and she told me that is what it meant
