All I can do is laugh at this point.
If my life serves no other purpose, helping to prevent one other single person on the planet from thinking and believing as you do will mean that it was all worthwhile.
Please read this same question in reverse...
---
Question for Christians?
Isn't your life useless since you are under the foolish delusion that you are saved by an imaginary God?
What's the point of living? You long for heaven, not this life. Why not do WHATEVER you want while you're here? You're already saved and you can always ask for forgiveness again any time you want. What is to stop you? (except for going to Hell since you don't really love your Jesus the way you think you do.)
Christians, does this version sound any more or less ignorant than the original question? Please don't complain about others talking stupid if you don't condemn the stupidity that happens to agree with your point of view.
Happy Delusions to all!

1) Dude, when asking people questions, try not to be a total dick about it.
2) I don't consider my life useless just because there is no God. Honestly, I think that fact makes me more significant if anything. It means that I am not just some creature created for the worship of someone else's greatness, but my own man with my own dreams that are just as important as anyone else's.
3) The point of living is that I enjoy living. I get to do a lot of the things that make me happy and fufilled every day. I need no more reason to live than the pleasure of life. Why not do WHATEVER I want. Well, presuming for some reason I did have some desire to do things beyond the pale as it were, that would be my own moral philosphy. Just because there is no sky fairy hanging around waiting for me to mess up doesn't mean I don't have my own set of morals. Are you saying that the only reason YOU act morally is your fear of God's punishment? If that is the case then I would ask you which of us is truly more moral.

that's your ideas and thoughts and beliefs and what is to stop me from doing whatever I want? morals and standards, another thing a lot of people of faith think that atheists don't have, which by the way you are wrong about but hey people have been wrong before, by the way I'd also say in response isn't your life going to prove to be useless and irrelevant when you find out there is no god? but it won't make a difference because you will be rotting in the ground deteriorating like everyone else, how can you believe in something in which there is absolutely no proof of? I believe in aliens even though there is no proof but at least I think it is a little bit more logical of a belief and much more likely

WOW! So b/c there is no big man in the sky, you mean to say all life is worthless and I should kill myself or run around without morality and do whatever just b/c I don't think the consequence is an eternal condemn-ment in hell.
Jeez, why didn't I think of this earlier!! There is no God, therefore everything is meaningless and falls to ****! Duh!
I can't live a happy life, eating well, respecting my body, and working towards good and peace! None of that's validating at all if I don't go to that magical heaven you speak of where I can chat with the dead and Jesus!

You really aren't a Christian, are you?
I feel sad for you if your only reason to live is to die and go to an imaginary heaven.
I live for my life with friends and family. I live to love, raise children, have grandchildren and do good works. I live to learn everyday. To expand my knowledge and hopefully my wisdom. I live to be there for people I love, like I recently did when my mother died. Sitting by her, loving her, caressing her, telling her that we love her and that it was okay to let go so she could have peace.
What do you do with your life? Study an old book and call people foolish? I'd tell you that you were going to Hell, too, but there is no hell and I'm not that kind of jerk.
You are exactly the reason that I am an atheist.

If I did something wrong, and heard someone cry because of my actions. How could I live like that..
I don't do things wrong, cause I don't want to hurt people, I don't want to watch people suffer. I don't want to be the cause of any of these suffering for any being, human or otherwise.
When my puppy yelps, cause i step on her toe, it hurts me, i apologize, immediately i want to comfort her.
I do all this, because I feel, not because I'm told to. My feelings and compassion are genuine, not faked and forced.
Why do I live, because I live, I was born. That is all....
Why do I not die, well, what would be the hurry, if this is all I have, I might as well, live my life the best I can and enjoy the ride while I'm here..

I'm sorry your family and your life isn't good enough for you to think Life is worth living. and you need something more.
You're lucky that there is no hell b/c you would be goin.
are you always this hostile ? thats not very Christian like...
and you answer your ridiculous question..
We.. atheists.. have a mind of our own. We have our own morals.. we can think for ourselves.. we have gut instinct and values.. like many humans before they are brain washed.
and MY LIFE IS WORTH LIVING BECAUSE .. of my family and friends.. my neighbors.. conversations with strangers.. my volunteer work .. beautiful sunny days and beautiful rainy thunderstorms.. The help I have done for others.. as well as what others have done for me. My Life is Worth Living for pizza and movies.. traveling and meeting new people... Thanksgiving and Christmas and other family gatherings.. reading and learning.. listening to others ..
i'm sorry thats not enough for u

Isn't your life useless since you appear to have no brain, and you post pretty dumb stuff. It sounds like you would agree, on the basis of what you post.

There is that wonderful "Christian" love.
Just because i do not believe in God does not mean I do not have a personal moral code. In fact looking at this question I am betting that mine is better than yours.

Asking this question leads me to believe that you think your own life would be useless without your belief in God.
