We just bought a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon and it has a
DOHC 16-V Engine in it I was just wondering if anyone else has the same engine or if the person who owned the car before us did an engine swap?

Forget those first 3 spammers, here's a real answer for you. Base Number of Cylinders: 4 Base Engine Size: 2 liters
Base Engine Type: Inline 4 Horsepower: 140 hp
Max Horsepower: 6000 rpm Torque: 133 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 4800 rpm
EPA Mileage Estimates: (City/Highway)
Manual: 23 mpg / 31 mpg Automatic: : 21 mpg / 30 mpg
That was the only engine available until they added the 2.7L V-6 a year later, so you've got the OEM engine there.
