I've been here a while, at first I thought the atheists weren't too bad, but it seems like they really try to be as offensive as possible. Do atheists have a love hate relationship with God? If you were an atheist why can't you simply live an let live, why do you have to hate and flip out? it's funny how the atheists say that religion causes all the wars fighting etc., but then they try to aggravate and fight with any religious and even peaceful persons. Maybe it's just all humans who fight and religion or atheism or anything could be a cause to fight for those who are fighters or haters? what do you think?- makes sense?

wow wonderful! so many nice answers! um, just to let you all know, i am not really a christian, and i do see how many religious people (not going to be prejudiced to all christians here- i am sure there are open minded good hearted christians too) are pushy and self righteous trust me I get a fair share of hate from so called Godly people. I am openminded and I don't mind that atheists answer questions in here at all, its when they seem to want to be really offensive that's when it bothers me.

one more thing, when I said it's funny i was not referring to the wars themselves, but to the fact that humans just seem to want to fight, and will use anything as an excuse. oh and it's not haha funny, it's ironic funny.. weird funny. hope this makes me more clear :-)

most the time people are atheists because they are angry with God for not getting what they want in life- maybe its because God doesn't cater to them or won't reveal Himself -in other words- atheists are taking a demanding position towards God- and rather than accept the concept that they are not the controllers they want to tell the world about just how angry they are- they haven't a drop of humility- either that or they are misled. so far as religions getting into fights-that's not true-if you went back into time you would see that all fighting is a lack of humility-thinking that one is more favored by God than another- so the real problem is pride, arrogance, greed, lust-all the things every real saint in every religion tries to warn against- And being an atheist doesn't magically make you less angry greedy lusty etc.. At least religious people TRY to be pious.
I'm not a Christian but I love Jesus for the beautiful things he taught and if the Christians followed it then everyone would love them too- same with any other religion- and the original teachers of the religion -were peaceful gentle and kind to all- do you think George Bush is making war in Iraq because he's a good Christen and wants to be a better one OR is it that he is irreligious and has become greedy for wealth, power and control of the world? what do you think?

So no Atheists could EVER have studied religion, have opinions on religion, have greater knowledge of even your own religion than you, eh? Of course not, educated people here? Impossible, right? I don't believe in female circumcision or torture, bu that doesn't mean I don't have knowledge about both that I'd happily share to prevent others from suffering either. Same holds with religion. Sometimes the ONLY person who can answer the question of someone searching about religion is the person whose been on both sides of that religious fence. Point out to me where I've made fun of anyone today. I gave honest answers, knowledgeable answers. I have knowledge on many things that you likely do not. I'm here ready and willing - and NONJUDGEMENTALLY able -to share that info with you if you're willing to hear it. Many people are. As long as they are, I'll be here, being what I always am - a atheistic theist. Totally possible, if you bother to find out out how that is so. EDIT _ just because you have never heard of it doesn't mean it does NOT exist. I'm sure there is plenty in the world you've not heard of and seen -does that make them non existent?

Makes no sense to me. You sound like one of those Christians that I just replied to that seem to feel we don't belong in this category...which is NOT the Christian category. I just answer the questions that are asked. I don't spread hate, I'm just honest. Why can't you accept how we feel without feeling you need to retaliate? I see plenty of questions posted that are either about atheiests or addressed to atheists, and those are the ones I respond to. But I have every right to respond to any question on here. And...it's not FUNNY that atheists say that religion causes wars...it's a fact.

We human beings are all imperfect. We have traits like lust, greed, and anger. That is why we fight. I don't know many perfect Christians or Hindus or Muslims or anything. But those who are perfect, (like Jesus) don't fight for their own lust greed and anger. They simply educate who is willing to be educated and love who is willing to be loved. If they are fighting based on anger, lust, pride, envy, greed, or any base human imperfect quality, it is because they are not perfect Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Shiek or anything.
Atheists are just an even more ignorant group of humans who are fighting because of these same qualities of lust greed anger pride ego etc etc......
At least, (those who say they are) religious people, are trying to be good.

To God: Because I believe sincerely that Christianity is a poisonous and destructive doctrine that should be combatted. To believers: Because to accept such things demonstrates a weak mind and lack of moral fibre, so maybe if you don't really have what it takes to be a Christian, I can offend you into thinking.

Yeah, and I wonder why Christians come into this spirituality section and keep trying to convince the Buddhists that there's something called god.

Stop trying to make my kid pray before tests, or prevent a woman from aborting a rape baby, and I'll "live and let live" with your delusions.

Wanna tick off the athiests? Atheism is a religion.

The fact is that religion refers to a set of beliefs concerning the world around us.

Believing there is no God is a system of beliefs.

By this definition, atheism is a religion.

By live and let live, do you mean 'keep quite and let theists walk all over us'? Many atheists come here because we would like to hear good justification for your beliefs...sadly we end up hearing 'goddidit' a lot.

They ARE offensive...to God...just by not believing.
considering the proof all around them that he exists.
(Romans 1:20) For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable;
