I just answered this same kind of question for someone else, and this was my advice:
I don't think you can really get a satisfactory answer to a complex question like that in a venue like this. I would recommend that you do some reading and research it for yourself, with Bible in hand, to see if you agree or disagree. One author that is particularly good is Josh McDowell, who has written the following books:
1. Evidence That Demands a Verdict
2. Evidence for Christianity
3. More Than a Carpenter: Is Jesus God or an Imposter?
4. The Great Treasure Quest: Discovering the Purpose of the Bible
5. Guide to Understanding Your Bible: An Effective Method for Unlocking the Living Truth
Another author you might like is Lee Strobel:
1. The Case for Christ
2. The Case for Faith
These authors' specialty is explaining why Christians believe what they do, and why they believe that those claims are valid.
Keep seeking...

I already believe in something and I am very sure of it, but I can't tell you choose this or choose that. I can only advice this: the Bible says that if you call out to God, he will respond to you. You don't have to do absolutely anything, seriously, but...only one thing is required of you - to have a soft and sincere heart to want to know him and he will reach out to you. Now, about God and Buddha: 1) Only Jesus claimed divinity, Buddha said he was a mere man. 2) The Bible has been proven right over and over again through archaeology, anthropology, history, and scholars. The texts of the Buddha doesn't stand up to scrutiny as much as the Bible does. 3) Look at the different goals of both: God is love, Buddha was just...enlightened. 4) Look at life experiences of TRUE believers of both religions. You might ask, How will I know who is true or fake? Well, the Bible says that by their fruit, you will know if someone is good or bad. God comes to heal, save, deliver, and bless, and it happens among his people; with Buddhism, once you are "enlightened", then what? and 5) Find out by asking God, talking to him like a friend, for he says, "I have plans not to harm you but to give you a hope and a future". and, "I am not a man that I should lie", and he also says, "I AM". Also, it's not to say that Buddhism, or any other religion for that matter, are all completely wrong; one can learn from other religions as well, such as their basic teachings, but remember, there can only be one truth. Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life..."

Honestly if you have to choice a religion I suggest you do what I did. I made up my own religion and worked out what it is exactly I believe in and the ways I wish to show it and then matched that up with the religions that other people follow to see if there was a match. I have choicen to follow my own religion for now because none of the ones I have seen so far that are followed by large groups of people even come close to what I believe in. I say dont choice a religion unless you know what you believe in and even then its risky buisness. You should probably also devote yourself to the act of learning as much about other religions and take from them the best parts and incorpate them into your life style. That is what I do and it seems to work for me. IF given 3 options and both suck I suggest picking the 4th option.

Almighty GOD is ONE, call HIM by any name. But it should be a Beautiful one WITHOUT any Mental picture.
What we say that there is ONE GOD means HE is the same GOD for Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Athiests, Buddhists and all mankind.
Because GOD is ONE and for all mankind.
Therefore, if you say ALLAH, ELI, ELIAH, BRAHMA, all refer to GOD. We can best understand this from the Hindu Scripture example.
Hindus say GOD is Brahma. Which if translated into English means 'The Creator' and if translated into Arabic means 'Khaliq'
Therefore if you call Almighty GOD as 'The Creator' OR 'Khaliq' OR 'Brahma' it is ONE and the SAME.
BUT...
The trouble arises when the Hindus ascribe features to GOD that are NOT worthy for GOD. For example, they say Brahma is the GOD who has 10 heads, so and so hands, etc...
And this goes against the fundamentals of Islam, Judaism and Christianity (As per the Gospel of Barnabas) and even True Hinduism itself (Vedas are against this)...
Therefore, All religions speak about Monotheism BUT the True essence of Monotheism has now remained in Islam only as...
1. The Church has fabricated the Trinity and mis-lead the Chirstians from the True message of Jesus Christ (Peace Be Upon Him)
2. The Hindus do NOT read the Vedas and practice Idol worship which is against their own scriptures.

User Ramsey James:
Muhammed never said "If you dont take it ONLY from my shop, you will go to hell"...
Infact NO muslim will be a Muslim if he/she does not believe in the Prophethood of Moses, jesus, Abraham etc... (Peace Be Upon Them All..)
But Muhammed is the seal of all the Prophets...
He is also mentioned in the Vedas, Gospels etc...
And all those prophecies mention to FOLLOW him when he comes...

Choose the one that obeys the scriptures.
STATUES AND ICONS;
(Exodus 20:4-6) “You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth. 5Â You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them, because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation, in the case of those who hate me; 6Â but exercising loving-kindness toward the thousandth generation in the case of those who love me and keep my commandments.
be prepared to preach to people;
(Matthew 28:19-20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20Â teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”
Preach what?
(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
Find out which religious group preaches the Kingdom [ prayed for at Matthew 6; 9,10]
Preaching to people is not teaching from the pulpit as a religious leader.
(Psalm 68:11) Jehovah himself gives the saying; The women telling the good news are a large army.
Only one group fits the criteria.
And uses god's NAME...
(Exodus 6:3) And I used to appear to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as God Almighty, but as respects my name Jehovah I did not make myself known to them.

I personally belived in the living God, the creator of the universe and mankind.
The excerpt below is from Wikipedia.org:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddah#The_Buddha_as_compared_to_God
A common misconception among Westerners views the Buddha as the Buddhist counterpart to “God”; Buddhism, however, is non-theistic (i.e., in general it does not teach the existence of a supreme creator god (see God in Buddhism) or depend on any supreme being for enlightenment; the Buddha is a guide and teacher who points the way to nirvana). The commonly accepted definition of the term "God" describes a being that not only rules but actually created the universe (see origin belief). Such ideas and concepts are disputed by the Buddha and Buddhists in many Buddhist discourses. In Buddhism, the supreme origin and creator of the universe is not a god, but rather causes and conditions obscured by time.

Why must you choose a religion? Choose to believe what you believe - under conditions. I recommend that you first establish what is certain, then reflect upon your thoughts, feelings, and actions to determine what is really you, not everything that society/parents have imposed upon you. Traditions are not necessarily "right," and the past need not decide the future.
If you insist on choosing a religion, I would recommend Buddhism for its openness. You can embrace it without having to think in terms of someone else's moral code. What Buddhism requires of you is much different, so research that.

With Jesus it ain't about "religion", but it is about a >relationship< with Jesus Christ.
They found the bones of Buddah--which means he is dead, and so is his "religion"
They found the bones of Muhammed--which means he also is dead, and so is his "religion". And both of these "religions" are still waiting for them to get up.
They even found the bones of the apostle Paul, but his words still remain a testimony to Jesus.
However, they're still looking for the bones of Jesus--of which they're still searching for empty tombs and they won't find him...because he is risen!
John 3:18-21
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son
19) this is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20) everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21) But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.
( I didn't listen, or care to listen, to what worldly views have said or are saying) for the devil is a LIAR!

Bro Eggplant,
God is ultimately one, but paths leading to Him R different. Most prophets like Jesus , Mohd, Jehovah & Budhdha claim to be the sole ladder for reaching Him.If U dont buy from my shop, U shall go to Hell, they all say.
But Hindus & Sikhs have no individual prophet as such , & they preach that between U & your Creator , no middleman ( prophet) is needed.
That is why after years of deep study on Comparative merits of all the religions, finally I decided to embrace Vedic Hinduism, so late in my life. Now I am happiest, far more than I was in the religion of my birth.
May Almighty God lead U to divine light, peace & Nirvana. Shubham Bhavatu. Om Shanti.
