Well, the Catholic Church has officially worshipped Mary as "Queen of Heaven" and Mother of God since the 5th Century as part of their doctrine.
(431 CE) The Christian church through the Ecumenical Council of Ephesus presided by St. Cyril of Alexandria and Emperor Theodosius II did claim as church doctrine that Mary, may be officially worshiped as Mother of God.
Catholics since 1871 also worship the Pope as a Living Deity (God) on Earth being infallible and therefore above all human law and all other human beings.
Jesus was human and never considered himself infallible, so today Pope Benedict is technically a more powerful God under the pantheon of Gods and saints of the Catholic Church.
Of course, such concepts are strenuously denied. So too are 20 centuries of crimes against humanity

I think, based on the words of the official Catholic rosary until it was changed in recent decades Mary was "Mother of God"- Mary is the most important Goddess/God in the Pantheon of Gods of the Vatican.

Neither...Jesus is the Greatest...i didnt ever hear about Mary healing the blind, lame, and crippled...exactly she had no divine powers except the Virgin Birth that only happened once...so she is not on the list of biblical Greats..and the Pope is just the poster face of the Catholic religion to make them look better in the eyes of the people./...even though...every Pope is usually about the same age as Mary when they take up their papacy

Catholics do not usually grade people on a scale of greatness.
This kind of goes against the virtue of humility which acknowledges that all we have and all we accomplish is God's work and not ours.
But since you ask, the any saint in heaven (and out of temptation's way) would probably be considered "greater" than anyone one earth trying to live as a saint.
With love in Christ.

Pastor Billy says: your entire question hinges on the definition of greatest. Mary is important to us as she is the perfect example of what all believers in Christ should be. She follows God's will completely, she is full of grace and of course she is already in heaven with her son and Savior. That is why the scriptures explain "all generations shall call me blessed".
Pope is also important as the earthly shepard of Jesus' flock. "feed my sheep" Peter.
Who is the greatest? Both play a role in God's ultimate plan of salvation why don't you let Jesus decide and simply accept the authority of Jesus Christ in all things including his Mother and his papal stewards.
It seems Don is just envious. You'd think he was one of the sons of thunder who ask Jesus who is the greatest and whose mother asks Christ if they can sit at his right and left.
Don stop talking smack

I've never thought "who is greatest". That's something that bold woman asked of Jesus: Can you put my sons one on your left and one on your right?
When obviously, those spots were reserved for His earthly mother and father, who spent their entire lives dedicated to Him and were His first disciples before anyone else.
You should be worried more about your own place, not anyone else's. Like me, you are just one of a crowd.

Catholic dogma says Mary was sinless through her immaculate conception, so I guess the answer to your question is Mary.
