You can't say "I know how you feel" because there are no words to describe what he's going through right now. Just say "I am here for you" and mean it. Visit him often unless he asks for time alone. Though his life will never be the same, he's going to want to remember his life before his accident, and so you remaining his friend will bring back that sense of normalcy through this difficult time. Though he's physically disabled now, nothing mentally has changed and he'll still remember all the good times you had together. Just don't focus on his disability. Focus on the positive things about your friend and just keep being the thoughtful, caring friend that you are and he'll be grateful for it.

insurance follows the automobile and as long because of the fact the guy driving had permission from the owner to apply the automobile, the owner's insurance could persist with as much as the coverage limits and basically to the quantity of legal accountability on the proprietors section. In different words, the proprietors insurance could be liable for any assets injury to the different social gathering to boot as any injuries. the only incorrect way it may selection is that if the state wherein the twist of destiny occurred is a PIP (own injury protection) state like MN, etc. if so each and anybody's very own insurance provider looks after thier very own injuries as much as a definite volume (often $5k). After that the insurance companies will attempt to deliver at the same time from one yet another. base line, the guy driving can't be sued, it may be the insurance business enterprise getting sued on the driving force's behalf. as a result, it may be the owner's insurance business enterprise protecting the driving force as long because of the fact the driving force did no longer take the automobile without the owner's permission.

Ask him how he's doing, then listen. The act of listening is what will let him know that you care. He's in uncharted territory and is riding a rollercoaster of feelings and thoughts -- fear, grief, regret, anger... Be a safe place for him to vent. Just nod and acknowlege his feelings and be there.
Ask him what he needs -- whether you can do something for him or bring him something from home, or bring him some decent food if he's still in the hospital.

In a case like that saying get well soon is never going to happen, you can't fix paralysis. Just let him know your there for him and that if he needs anything or needs help that you will be there.

that's a toughy.. i'm not so great at talking about stuff like death, sickness accidents or anything liek that.. i'd rather not speak at all and just give hugs, hold hands and just be there for them...
time will heal
i usually like to "joke" when its the right time...
i would say "hey when we go to disneyland we don't have to wait in line.. we can cut" =)
best wishes

MY FRIEND DID THE SAME ON A BMX BIKE AND IS IN A WHEEL CHAIR FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE. BUT JUST SAY IM SORRY THIS HAD TO HAPPEN TO YOU AND DONT GIVE UP. MY FRIEND STEVEN DIDNT AND HE HAS NOW LEARNED TO STAND UP , BUT THEY SAID HE WILL NEVER WALK AGAIN....BUT THEY ALSO SAID HE WOULDNT EVER STAND. SO TELL HIM TO KEEP HIS HEAD UP AND LET HIM KNOW YOUR THERE FOR HIM. THATS USUALLY WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR, BUT DONT TREAT HIM LIKE A BABY EITHER. STEVEN SAID ALOT OF PEOPLE DID THIS AND IT AGGRIVATED HIM.

Do neither. Just be a good friend and be there to pass the time and help him divert his thoughts with conversation, movies, whatever.
