If you are a mechanic, and you like wrecking yards, and there is some 80's style vehicle you really like, then yes, go for it, but make sure you have at least one extra car for reliable transportation. I daily drive my '81 Mustang Cobra, and I have an 87 Caprice Classic, an 86 Pontiac Firebird, and a '65 Dodge Pickup all of which run good.

The Firebird is a project car, and the Chevy, Mustang and Pickup are the only transportation I have. All of them are currently road worthy, and I wouldn't hesitate to drive them from coast to coast, provided I have my tool box with me.

If you can't work on cars, you would be making a mistake.

Are you trying to re-live the 80s? I don't blame you, it was the best decade. I learned to drive on an '82 Chevy Chevette Diesel. Noisy and slow, but it was rear-wheel drive and it had character, and that's what counts!
