It depends...he is just one guy at the video story I am sure there are plenty of others working there that are friendly and courteous, so I would suggest mabye complaining to the manager about him/her.
But again the person working there is representing the store so it should be expected they treat customers respectfully.

First of all, tell him/her off. They probably don't realize they're being unpleasant. Just tell them, so they know what they're doing is wrong. Go back to the store if it really is convenient for you. And hopefully you get another cashier!

Only if it's inconvenient to go elsewhere.
Calculate. Is what you are paying a big enough amount to where you could complain? Is friendly customer service something that should be included in the price of items there?
I know most people view business as business, but to me if we are paying way less than the average cost for something, one compromise might be in grumpy service.

First I tell his/her manager. If I don't receive some type of apology or compensation, I don't go back. If the guy works in customer service and can't be pleasant and helpful, I'm sure the owner of that store doesn't want him representing the store!

How exactly was he/she unpleasant?
I would still return, since that person is only one cashier out of the others they have.
