NCLR Response: NCLR’s published response to Rep. Norwood’s April 10 Human Events article states, in pertinent part:
…while it is difficult to repudiate something we’ve never been for, we want to make very clear that, …NCLR has never supported and does not endorse the notion of a “Reconquista” or “Aztlán,” and has never used, and unequivocally rejects, the motto “Por La Raza todo, Fuera de La Raza nada.” In fact, NCLR and its Affiliates work every single day in a number of ways including providing English classes and supporting naturalization efforts to help integrate immigrants into American society.
I got this from their web site.It looks to me like they are just an advocacy group for their people to go to.ALL minorities have these.

Well all I can say is I'm still looking into their group.I don't take ANYONES word on things. But I thought I'd share this as soon as I read it after some other questions posted even by myself that discredited them.I like to think I'm fair so wanted to give this side too.

I don't really know anything about La Raza but the people who seem to jump on them here on Yahoo! Answers are mostly the same ones who bash people of latino birth on a regular basis.
Racists by another word. They see an advocacy group for a minority they dislike and so they try to scare people about it and make it as a big target as they can.
But that is just the way it appears to me. This being said I do know basically nothing about La Raza. Maybe they are a radical group. But I doubt it.

La Raza just a acovacary group for Chicano and Hispanice, and the conspiracy theoriest just need to relax about the paranoid about Hispanics. Even migrants learn English, and quite a few get deported back to Mexico and do not know one word of Spanish, and came over to Mexico when they were just a 2 year old. Just paranioa by the nativist wing, and immigration bill gonna be like civilrights in the 1960s it will get done with time.

But they are only for one ethnic group. If we had a group called 'the people' and only worked for whites, what would people think of it?
And why would we even want it?
Why do they?
They do fund MEChA, however, and MEChA STANDS for Atzlan.
My biggest problem with La Raza is that it IS a partisan lobbying group, yet it receives and controls government funds. I think THAT is inexcusable. On the government's part.
I think no lobbying group should get or control government funds. Without exception.
And what would you think of a United White College Fund?
I'm not saying anything should be thrown out. I believe in free association. I am just saying racism is racism wherever it is, and the government shouldn't fund it.

La raza did take over the Unites States...but it was the "WHITE RAZA" who did it, even if there were non-racist amog them.
The Raza you're talking about has earned their place by work, not genocide and is not really A raza but a union of more than one race with more things in common than some gringos would want us to have.

Yeah, they don't have it in the schoolbooks that the entire southwest USA belongs to Mexico and that "LA RAZA" will prevail and get it back. And I'm a Chinese fighter pilot.
Get real, the illegal immigration is meant to drive down the wages of all Americans and put us in the vonerable position to be open to Martial Law.
The US govt and corps don't care about the illegals any more than they cared for the black men at Tuskegee. Come here if you want, just do it legally like my parents did, and don't commit crimes. I like all people as long as they respect me and my neighbors!

Maybe true wickedlooks. I say maybe because just like local police cannot ask about legal status. I bet La Raza does not ask every illegal what their intentions are either.

La Raza wants to make every illegal, legal, and to bring over each and every one of their family members. They were the ones that would let gang bangers get amnesty if the denounced their gang membership

I'm sorry, I signed on for the English language version of Y/A, if you want to speak in another language, could you sign up for that language, so as to get answers that you and the people you are trying to reach can understand. If you look at my profile, It states that I want questions asked in English. I hate having to look up the interpretation of Spanish words in order to give you an answer. You don't need an answer if you want to push your language onto me, I like to use this site, but I don't need the extra work involved in interpreting as well. Thank you.
