If u dont get married my mom and her boyfriend r madly in love but they r not married soo y is that a sin its not like they r sleeping around they have been together for 17years. And they r gonna go to hell because they r not married. Why?????

To be joined without marriage is a sin. You can do a search in the Bible for the word marriage and come up with plenty of proof for that.
Here is the kicker though. Marriage is of God, which is why God created a commandment concerning adultery. God marries people, Adam and Eve for example. Do a search on the word Wife in Genesis.
Knowing that Marriage is of God and that God performs marriages any person who claims that people are not married by God until they fulfill some tradition of people is sinning.
Mattehw 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
God marries people. God is real.
I don't know if your mother is married. You should ask God.

The only thing I can say is that the Word of God says so. Just because they are not married does not mean they will automatically go to hell. If they repent and get married, they won't have to. My next question is if they are so compatiable then why don't they marry? May God Bless U.

There are a lot of posts about Christianity, and maybe your question was referenced to Christianity as well. However your question seems a little close to Hinduism for answer.
Hinduism believes that God has created everything in this universe with Gods appearance in them, meaning that their is a little part of God in us all. Thus as long as you acknowledge your love to each other, and you pose God as the witness and protector of that love it is considered a marriage.
This because there is nothing extraordinary about any marriage ceremony you have two people who acknowledge their love for each other, the people who participate in the wedding bear witness, and some we seek God's blessing and protection.

In some states hon they are common law husband and wife (been cohabitating for 7 plus years). Just because they don't go to a church and get married or draw up a piece of paper to send to court doesnt mean they are living in sin. If they are commited to each other, have that vow between themselves that God has heard from their heart, they are married in the eyes of the Lord.

People go to Hell because they have not placed their trust in the sacrifice that Jesus made to pay for their sins. As to your mother and her boyfriend it doesn't sound too likely that they have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and received God's Holy Spirit who seals true believers unto salvation. I don't know them and even if I did it isn't my place to judge other people, but people who want to honor God take part in the ceremony of Holy matrimony when they plan to live together like a husband and wife.

The answer to your question is in another question, and that is
"Have they accepted Christ?"
It really doesn't matter what else they do or don't do until this question has been answered.
There is only one sin that will cause destruction of body and soul in hell and that is whether or not you have accepted Christ as Savior and followed into his "death" of the old and "resurection" into the new life.

It's a sin because, as one person before me said, it is fornication. They are "living in sin," so to speak. Sex outside of marriage is wrong.
Now, the only way for someone to go to Hell is to not be saved (not be a Christian). I don't know if your mom and her boyfriend are saved or not; that's God's business, not mine.

The only reason they would go to hell would be if they aren't saved.
It is a sin to have sex outside of marriage, in love or not...whether they have been together 2 months or 50 years.

People go to Hell because they don't accept Jesus as their personal savior. All sins including fornication are bad, but the unpardonable sin is rejecting Jesus into your heart.
