Did you know about the lies they say about Jesus?

My therapist has told me about a new book that was discovered
called the Gospel of Michael. It is older than the books in the bible. It says:
1)Jesus was married
2)Mary was not a virgin but in fact was pretty promiscuous
3)Two of the apostles were gay although nobody is sure which ones they were
4)Jesus wrote five books
5)Jesus was never crucified
6)He could not walk on water but he could fly if he had been praying a lot
7)He did not drink wine
8)He was a vegetarian
9)He was from India
can you believe they have kept the truth from us?

Your thereapist probably first heard of it inthfiction work :"DaVinci Code'. This 'gospel of Michael' was written long after the NT gospels - the person who wrote 'Michael' was not an eyewithness. It was also reviewed and rejected by the early church (NOT by Constantinople).

It is a rejected 'gnostic' writing and the OT and NT teach against gnosticism - which holds that matter is evil and spirit is good...a lot of other stuff in 'Michael' is so different an inconsistent with the other eye-witness that it was reviewed and rejected as being a fabrication.

I'm going to answer this question with a question:

What have you done to research the validity of the "Gospel of Michael?"

Just because someone says something or writes something doesn't make it true.

-When was this book supposedly first written?
-What scholarly evidence do we have to lead conclusively to Michael as the author?
-How far back does the manuscript date that the "gospel" was retrieved from.
-Are there any other historical evidences that lead historians to believe it was in circulation at the supposed time of it's arrival on scene? (i.e. historians of the time referencing it, or anyone for that matter)
- Why do you believe this "gospel" over the other four gospels.
-what have you done to educate yourself on their origin?

Have reasons for what you believe... your therapist most definitely is not perfect. He didn't study theology, archeology, or for that matter educate himself on what he decided to take as gospel truth if he fed you this book.

It's a gnostic "gospel" and no new find.

No wonder humans supposedly found this book. I bet the ones who found this 'book'(quote unquote)are anti-Christ. I am glad God is not held hostage by this supposed book or your therapist. This is a prime example why the Word of God says that we each should study (the Bible) to shew ourselves approved. So that when some Joe Blow comes to us with anything that we know is a lie we can simply dismiss it. May God Bless U.

Hey watch out! The next thing you know your therapist is going to try to sell you beach front property in Nevada. If they told you the same thing about Abraham Lincoln what would you say about your therapist? Don't you know that Lincoln was a flying Indian vegetarian that hated grapes?

I believe God has protected His Word for thousands of years. During the Dark Ages the devil tried to destroy all Scriptures! If I were Satan, I'd write a book like Michael, too!

At least some of the other people that "try" to disprove the Bible put up ONE link. There's nothing even remotely true about this question.

Be very careful what you believe, for your eternal life is at stake, there are many false books / gnostic writtings, false prophets, false teachers / preachers, false religions ! !

Don't believe everything you hear in the world! !

But test everything by the word of God! !

We have the Bible as a standard for the Truth of God.

No, don't be so gullible. The Bible has been studied by Christian and non-Christian Scholars for a long long time and found to be historically accurate.
