You had watched on TV to witness.
A lot of believer blamed "FREEWILL" and didn't claimed their God's responsibility.
However, some one had saved miraclely then , God SAVED him/her/building.
How about so many helpless childrean, adult, and animals.
So you are one of the Witness that
Benevolent , Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Omniscience God didn't save, If HE ever exist ( I doubt so )

It was not Atheist blame on God of others.
We just can't understand, if someone were saved miraclelly, then it's GOD. When people die in same reason, it's not GOD.
So, either your GOD is
not Benevolent ( So he choose only a few ),
not Omniscience ( didn't know there will be Tsunami ),
not Omnipresent ( only manage to save a few than all ),
not Omnipotent ( Why didn't he part the ocean to prevent 2004 Tsunami )
It's my point of views and I am not Athesists.

Okay I'll write the typical Christian response to your question:
1) God works in mysterious ways. (he is mysterious indeed)
2) It's all part of God's master plan. (some plan)
3) God saved those who had faith in him. (that's tough love)
4) God is sending us a sign. (it's obvious to see)

Some people said it was the Muslim god striking down on Christians (as it was the day after Christmas). They failed to realize that it didn't strike a Christian-dominated region.

I don't really get your question but that is 1 of the sings of the end of the world maybe that's why he didn't save everybody if that answers your question.

As much as it hurts God to see His chidren suffer and die, He must allow Satan to show "his true colors" so nobody will feel sorry for him when God destroys him someday!

it amazes me how atheist have scientific reason for everything..but blame God for what the don't like.
