Not only that, but if he was never crucified and just lived on like every other human, then how much would that change things?

There would be no Christianity because without Jesus Christ, you wouldn't call it Christianity. Christ -> Christianity.

If he just lived as a human but didn't go through crucifixion, then we are all still condemned to go to the lake of fire. His being crucified and died and going through resurrection is the basis of our redemption from our sinful nature. Note, no matter how good a person may seem to be, the sinful nature is there (due to inheritence from Adam and Eve)... you don't need to teach a child to lie, he/she will just know how to at a certain point in time.
Just some thoughts.

Well...if Jesus never existed there would be no christianity. To be a christian means you follow in Christs path. Even tho Jesus came to earth to die for all that we might be forgiven, he still had the choice weather or not to be obedient to God and fulfill His will. Isn't beautiful that both Jesus and God care so much about us? What religion are you?

Well if none if it happened in the first place. Obviously there wouldn't be Christianity today at all.

Now, if you're asking, if we were to find out NOW, through archeology that he never existed .. well, then that would be a different question.

But, if science ever did disprove of his existence or events on his last days on earth in his physical body, well Christians just wouldn't believe it anyhow. So therefore, it would not change christianity a bit...

Well, how similar is the historical Jesus to the godhead depicted in the Bible? There are centuries separating the two.

I think that Christianity has already sufficiently changed the historical Jesus by declaring him divine, by vote at the Council of Nicea in the third century A.D.

If Jesus did not exist, was never crucified and resurrected, then Christianity would not exist.

1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

1 Corinthians 15:16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

Christianity is based entirely on Jesus (New Testimate). So, I would think it would not exist if Jesus did not.

As for your second question, his resurrection is how people became to know he was the Lord, so if he was like every other human then His story would not exist.

That is the way I would think to answer your questions.

If Jesus didn't exist everyone would be Islam. Christianity itself wouldn't exist because there would be no followers of Christ.
