the coloris effect. it apples to toilets and funnels too >.<
they have fans go the other way because of the coloris effect, so it has more energy going with it and it conserves a little bit of power.
coloris works like this, if i shot a missel 1000 miles north (including the fact that i live in the northen hemisphere, reversed in southern), it would not go north, it would teeter to the northeast a little bit, and i would miss my target and kill innocent children that were not near the abandoned target zone >.<
if i shot it due northwest, it would hit the northern target. oh, and the children would live.... unless it was a nuke....
the coloris effect is created by the spinning of the earth, if earth didn't spin, then this effect would not exist.
a way that you can do this in experiment is take a weighted thingy, attach it to a string on the ceiling, set up dominos that can be hit (a lot of dominos), and swing it, eventually (if you can get the thing to swing for long enough) it would knock over a domino, and then another, and another, for ever..... (if you could reset the dominos and if it swung forever) or until 7 years after the rapture >.<
oh, and the stupid answer for this would be:
BECAUSE THEY FEEL LIKE IT >.<

It doesn't. The only reason that it would go backwards would be because of the way that the company made the fan. That is all about gears, not gravity or the movement of the earth.

It's not the fan, it's the swirling water in the tub and toilet that's backwards.
