Contact your local or state dental association and and see if there are any dentists who provide free or reduced cost care for low-income, disabled or senior patients.

Call your local health department and ask about health centers that provide dental care for free or on a sliding scale.

Your local United Way may also be aware of such a clinic. In some areas, you can reach them now by dialing 2-1-1 for "non-emergency information."

If you are a senior citizen, call your local Area Agency on Aging or Office on Aging. If you can not find a listing in your local phone book on the "County Government" pages (usually marked with blue borders), call toll-free 1-800-677-1116 to find how to contact the Area Agency on Aging serving you.

Check http://www.toothwoman.net to see if low-cost or free dental services are available near you.

Check http://bphc.hrsa.gov and choose "Find a Health Center" to see if there is a low-cost clinic near you.

Check http://www.nfdh.org/DDS.html to see if your state has a "Donated Dental Services" program. D.D.S. is designed to locate dentists who will give free care to patients who are financially compromised due to medical problems. This is a process that will take a couple of months to get your information and then arrange for someone to see you. Not all states have D.D.S. programs.

As a dentist I recommend calling your counties local Department of Family and Childrens Services. A lot of these services actually have a dentist on staff that is available to help with any dental procedures you may need. If your county DFCS office does not provide any type of dental services they should be able to put you into contact with someone who will be able to assist you (ex: another state agency). Good luck and I hope you find the help you need.

Patients in tight spot monetarily can take advantage of currency differential in countries like Thailand, India, Poland, etc. You may get quality dental care at much lower cost. If you are willing to travel, check up the prices with Dental Care India Tour, Silom Dental, etc.

Is he inelgible for medicaid? He would be able to get medically necessary dental treatment to help sustain his health through medicaid. Also, check in the phone book for Catholic Social Services and your communities low income health care clinic. Many clinics work on a sliding scale meaning he would only pay what he can afford. Also try the Salvation Army and United Way for assistance.

If the person with the suffering mouth
is of low income, go to Human/Social Services. Apply for Medicaid / MediCal. This is a government funded medical/dental aide program for the poor. A few dentists, or dental clinics will accept this form of payment. (However, be aware that the maximum amount the dentist can receive, or specific work that may be approved for dental care is usually below what the dentist's cost is to perform the work and provide the materials.) With the extensive, and expensive work needed to be done, do not be surprised if what is offered and approved is dentures.

If the person finds dentures to be unsatisfactory, consider that when he can afford to pay for it or has insurance, implants may be a future option. (full mouth, around $50.000)

Are there any dental clinics in your area that will work on a sliding scale for people who cannot afford treatment. Or maybe even a sympathetic dentist who will do some work pro-bono? Another example of why our country needs National Healthcare!! So sorry for his pain and bad luck! Hope you find a solution!

As crazy as it may sound, try to find a nearby dental school. Dental students always need patients!!! Worst case scenario, if he needs any kind of periodontal treatment, there would be a student that could treat that portion, which is very important, and then move on to the next "specialist in training."

go your county offices, apply for medical assistance.. most states have programs for individuals who cannot afford healthcare (not only medical, but dental and vision included).. not sure where you are located, but in california, the state assistance program is called "Medi-Cal".. state picks up the tab.. check into subsidized healthcare, talk to a dentist and see if he/she can recommend a program to assist with paying for such services, or talk to them to see if they may be willing to perform the services needed at a reduced cost thus making it affordable..

Bacteria infection can be alleviated by a gargle of Hydrogen Peroxide. A bottle cap of the rocket fuel in a shot glass with an equal amount of water held in the mouth for 3 minutes will kill just about anything. Let it foam and spit it out. Rinse well and repeat once a day till the infection goes away. Check the gums for foreign matter and keep brushing the gums.
Do Not Swallow.
