I don't particularly LIKE it, but I'm not offended by it if someone says it once...but I don't like to hear it every other word in a conversation or joke.

The important thing to judge is the spirit of the comment. Some ppl just say it out of habit. If there are many ppl around, he must be firmly told to mind his language. In case it was meant as a derogatory insult, which is usually not the case, it calls for seeing if the mistake was really urs. If it wasnt, ignore. Theres no point in getting offended!

Not quite.
It depends on circumstances and the people involved. With intimate buddies we use it casually because we mean no offense. One of my buddies, I fear, is even running short of proper adjectives and uses it so often!
However, I am always very guarded in other situations and will raise eyebrows if someone uses it in relatively more formal situations. I would certainly be offended, for example, if someone I'm not familiar with deploys it to describe this response, no matter the intentions, ill or well.
It is nice-sounding, little weasel word when used casually among friends.
See and view how casually and easily it comes in handy for most characters in the two movies: "Do the right thing" and "The Departed." I'd say, it enhances the general entertainment value of the two movies making them quite memorable, at least in my view, that is!

It depends on how well I know them. To use a word like that implies they know you well enough or take for granted you will not be offended. To me that means they don't care if it offends you or not. I am always taken aback when I hear it and would prefer not to hear it at all.

Not offended, but annoyed, and only if it is being used over and over again when someone is talking. It just sounds unintelligent. There are other words in the English language to express yourself with.

Offended? In general, no. It depends on the context. However, I DO get annoyed when people curse a lot. I think some curse words should put an emphasis on things so when they're overused they lose all value.

I am too old to be offended by anything. But, I find that it is very disrespectful and shows the person's lack of education.
I have known people to use the "F" word as adjectives, adverbs and nouns. To me that means they have a small vocabulary.
To me, it just distracts from any point the person is trying to make when using this word.

Yes I do. some people use it all the time and I think they don't even realize what they are saying , but I find it very offending. I wasn't brought up to use words like that and it hurts me to here them. Sometime i wish i could wash their mouths out with soap. I hate fowl language of ant kind. Thank for asking the question . God Bless.

No. In fact, if a child in my room (I'm a teacher) uses it, I walk up and tell them the truth:
The "f" word is a word. At one time it was used normally by everyday people, all the time. But it wasn't used as a swear word. It meant something.
When the Norman people came to England and conquered the Saxon people there, many of the Saxon mothers wanted their children to speak Norman, not Saxon. Many of the words we call swear words are Saxon words we have learned not to use.
They are still very useful words, and some of our best writings use them in their writing, but at school we want you to learn proper English, first. But don't forget that word. It's not a bad word. It is useful, just don't use it carelessly. Only children or people who haven't really grown up use it carelessly.
My kids don't swear after that. They also don't spend time feeling bad if they forget. Someone reminds them politely and they go on with their work.
Life is so simple.
