since its 2wd i would find a strong 727 automatic, but b sure it has a cut out in the bell housing for the crank sensor. the 727 auto is the best trany chrysler ever produced and will hold up better than any newer transmission on todays market.

Locate the transmission model number by decoding the numbers on the transmission. If for example it is 46RE, any year model 46RE would work. The ECU was changed in 1997, so a later model may be controlled different.

you should be able to use up to a 99 model on that one,anything that had a 318 in it will also work in it,good luck with it.
