About to buy a Mosin, it uses weird ammo, the 7.62X54R
was wondering if anyone knew a reliable website where I could buy a 100, maybe a couple hundred rounds. Thanks

There is no Hazmat fee for loaded ammo, You just need an "ORM-D" label. At least thats how I did it with UPS and they had no issues! USPS wont ship ammo and Fed-Ex may be different. But yes ammo is so heavy that shipping is not cheap. You used to be able to get ammo off of Abel's for $12 a brick. After shipping it was like $16 a brick (if bought in bulk) but it was good ammo so well worth the cost, it came in about the same price as Federal Blue Box for about the same price. Right now you wont find any instock and fairly priced online.

It is not a weird ammo, just a russian round that is about like our 30/06. It is rimmed instead of rimless; and the Mosin is a heck of a good rifle. It helped the ruskies come out on top in WW II. Enough class lecturing. Go to AMMOMAN.COM and you can buy the ammo; the price you see is set on your doorstep. J&G also sells it, as do quite a few outfits. Heck, just google ammunition and follow the FMJ road.

This is a very common round, a rimmed 7.62. the ammo it self looks very sacrry if you have never shot one. The bullet itself looks LONG.
I use Ammoman.com and buyammo.com (outdoormarksman.com same place) both have good prices. and buy ammo has all kinds of other things too.

Try some of these - I've got a Mosin M38 as well...Awesome guns, with a lot of "kick"
