You poor thing, I know you hurt! The best remedy I have used is to use white vinegar and apply it to your skin as often as necessary (don't worry the smell goes away very quickly). Also take a lukewarm bath, and pour lots of vinegar in your water and soak in the tub. Keep a box of corn starch in the freezer and apply that as powder. It helps pull the heat from your skin and keeps your clothes from irritating your skin. DO NOT apply any kind of oils or lotions to your skin until the pain is gone. Try and just wear light cotton clothing until the pain stops also. You need to get the heat out and soothe your burn, thats why the vinegar and corn starch works. Good luck and I hope you feel well soon!

Hm. I've had a super bad sunburn...I don't remember if I've had poison ivy but I do recall having poison oak once (also bad). What's really bad is when you get a super bad sunburn (the kind where your skin is almost gelatinous), and then you go camping, realizing that you pitched your tent in a patch of poison ivy. Add the sebaceous sores to the fried skin and you look like a second cousin to Freddy Kruger. I'm going to say that the poison ivy is worse. You win! Tell Mr. Sunburn to stop his bitchin' or you'll rub your infected areas on him. Hahaha.

Buy a bottle of aloe vera with no fragrance. Apply a thick layer wherever you're sunburned. if you can, try to keep clothing off of the sunburn. after you put a lot of the aloe vera on, you'll still feel a bit sticky, but it has a nice cooling effect that soothes the sting, and it will make your skin peel a lot LESS.

Aloe Vera Gel- Get the green gel make sure it doesn't have lotion you need the pure stuff. Then take some advil to help with the swelling and pain.
You can also lay cold washcloths on it- wear loose clothing, try not to touch it.
I hope that it gets better. Sunburn can really hurt!

ALOE VERA works wonders! You can get it at Walgreens or any drug store and it's just a soothing blue or green gel. It's usually made by the companies that also make sun tan lotion. Hope you feel better!

Take a cool bath, pat dry. then ...
Aloe Vera is best. Put it on thick, let it get absorbed, then put on more again.
And drink some water and orange juice (for potassium), since you probably also became dehydrated.
