i would say bowfin/dogfish but i havent ever seen one in a river. I live here in michigan and do a lot of fishing but a fish in a river with a black dot is new to me. The only fish i know of with a black dot would be a bowfin/dogfish

I wasn't going to answer this but, after seeing all these answers, i couldn't help myself.

First, it's probably the minnow darter. The parasite "Ich" is white spots all over the fish and usually only in aquarium fish. The "bowfin" is the Tuna and, we don't have that here. Get yourself a book on the fish of the Michigan waters and streams before you get into trouble with the DNR for either getting the wrong fish or catching a protected species.
You'll know a "Salmon" when you catch one.

just like a couple people already said, the first thing that came to my mind was a bowfin or also called a dogfish or mudfish. bowfin are a very distinct looking fish. nothing in michigan waters that look like it. they are prehistoric fish, and have a half developed lung and can survive out of the water for hours. in Lowell MI, i use to catch alot of bowfin in the flat river while catfishing. fun fish to catch i think but ive heard its hard to clean and isnt very good to eat. but here is a link:

Depends on the size of it. There are river darters that have a dot on their tail, but they are a small size fish (about h size of a large minnow) and are a protected species.

some are and a few are not. one won't be able to make a blanket assertion approximately all females of any race. splendor is punctiliously subjective and interior the attention of the beholder. multiple the persons listed right here are being very stereotypical, even people who're being complimentary. All black females have not got huge noses or thick lips or a similar texture of hair or sparkling dermis or massive butts or maybe dark dermis. the primary public of black human beings are mixed race despite in the event that they do no longer seem to be to you - it relatively is the clarification why maximum black human beings do no longer appear like Africans. i do no longer know what females people who've spoken on very own hygiene are putting around yet possibly you need to locate a extra effective classification of persons to circulate alongside with.

yup..sounds like a dogfish to me...nasty things. Hope you didnt try to lip land em..lol If you catch them dont put them back in the water. Theyre ravinous predators that eat good fish that are actually worth catchin..Garbage em if you catch em.
