without meds or a counsellor is this possible?
i've quit the pot and started doing lots of exercise in attempt to rid the thc out of my system. i know this won't happen for at least another 3 months though.
so if i try any other stuff like detox, would it help? i was wondering if all the thc is out of my system, the paranoia will kind of wear off.
i'm a pretty strong minded individual and i honestly didn't think someone like me could become paranoid and depressed. well, lesson learnt. time to get my life back. i smoked non stop for 2 years... seriously... like everyday.
i've quit for good last week and have been at the gym everyday and it's like i have weird mood swings. most of the time, i wake up feeling like doom and gloom or if i go socialising outside, i also feel doom and gloom. i'm trying to combat it by increasing my hobbies (particularly for sports).
i at least want to know if it's possible to get rid of the mental illness or if it's permanent damage. cheers.

believe it or not dudes and dudettes. i think i am cured!!! i haven't felt any paranoia tendencies within the last 3 days and if anything, i'm feeling almost back to my normal life except for the occasional weird spell of feeling high when i haven't touched the stuff for ages!! (or it feels like ages) guess it's still in my fatty cells.
i didn't see a councellor or doctor for meds in the end. i truly did cure it by myself by reading a lot of psychology websites online and doing loads of exercise. i find it helps to focus the mind on hobbies and eventually it just disappears. also, i tested myself on social outings. at first, i was really scared at stuff like friend's bbqs n' casual bars but then i went out shopping in city centre and clubs and i don't feel anything.
if anything, i really think the exercise helped. maybe because of the serotin being produced. also, eating healthily. i dunno. i hope this gives hope to others who are trying to quit

You need to see psychiatrist. Usually thc do not cause paranoid thinking per se unless one is predisposed to such disorder. To figure this out, get yourself evaluated.

I am having the same proble i quit pot about 4 months or so ago, I have had 3burns since I just felt I needed it but I cannot touch the stuff it does not seem to cure any problem, the paranoia gets a bit better but it does still stay there, the good thing about it is that you recognise it is paranoia, it may become part of your life it is part of you. I wish I could take cannabis how I started to take it, but I cannot, I think I am dependant on it like a addict. you could say I abused the green so the green abused me, sometimes I just wanna take any drug or drink alcohol just to help, but this is not the way I have promised myself that no matter what happens I will not take drugs and alcohol, that way I know they have not influenced my mental health, even tho I think it may cure it it will not, I know I had problems before I started taking drugs, but after taking drugs for long time yes I do feel I have now mental health concerns, just take one day at atime I really like writing and art listening to music at first you feel you can not doit cause drugs helped you but it is a lie your creativity will eventually become greater than before exersize is good I fount that hard but good for sleep, sleep is hard when you first quit you may have problems with dreams, I fount hardest times with head in morning but gradually your body will make own coping and you can have the most amazing dreams without drugs I never used to dream, I really dont know if my mental health is permanent I try and take advantage of the good days. but on the bad days I just think mental health can get worse as get older. take a day at a time. all drugs and alcohol is the same do not try and replace your old habbit you are doing well keep it up, it will pay off you will feel the difference, drugs kinda numbed me aswel and blocked emotions, feeling emotions can be hard but it is a good sign it is a human reaction. You could even consider going to see a counsellor. Good luck with your new and improoved life, it is hard but it is a well worth journey you never know wot tomorrow will bring!

Engage in positive activities. Eat healthy foods and listen to good music. Congratulations on giving up the pot. In 3-4 months you will be feeling better. You will develop better coping skills over time! HAng in there

Ok, first of all, good for you, the decision is one thing, actually doind it is another. It'll be hard, but it will go away eventually.
it's all in your mind, basically it's hard because you're brain is trying to remember how to cope without the chemical balance it's been used to.
Try to have lots of fruit, juice, healthy stuff. some of it actually tastes ok too.
as well as training your body, try training your mind aswell. I reccomend Dr Kawashima. he does that brain training game on the nintendo ds.
goodluck!
it does get better, just keep at it.

Get onto the sofa, relax and unfold your fear.
Listen to soothing music and gaze at falling
autumn leaves or snows on the Aspen. Exercise
and read and take notes of your daily routine.
Count your rosary. A capsule of OPC Spa helps.

that is something that only your brain will know.. i'm on medication for paranoia too (abilify) and who knows, maybe in a few months, i'll be back to normal. but, paranoia is a chemical imbalance, and most chemical imbalanced disorders (such as schizphrenia and bipolar disorder) are not curable. you're brain is all in whack right now, and it's trying it's not working right.. but, i believe that you can overcome this and one day, you'll be able to control the thoughts or if you're lucky, be rid of them.. good luck on your new journey to a better life.
