There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Get 6 to 8 hours of sleep a night, put preparation H under your eyes for puffiness and yellow tinted concealer under your eyes it offsets the darkness. Also if you use eyeliner don't use black but maybe a light green or brown. That way it doesn't draw attention to the circles. I smoke too so I know how hard it is to quit but if you do that will help a lot also..I have heard that smoking actually causes wrinkles too. Also DRINK LOTS OF WATER! If not 8 glasses a day then about 6. Try drinking a glass every other hour and that should help..The only bad side effect is you will have to pee a lot LOL! Good Luck and hope this helps!

Oh yes honey. I am 38 and just found some incredible products at Macy's. BE PREPARED to spend a lot but seriously with all honesty I've NEVER tried anything this good before. It's called Stri-Vectin for the wrinkles - you see immediate results. This product line also has a severe dark circle cream. Works great. 2 more tips - 1) fill in your eyebrows with a little light brown pencil 2) use a yellow under eye concealer (the only one I know is Mary Kay brand). Doing these things will draw people's attention (and yours) away from the circles. BTW, they aren't that bad and you're very cute so don't sweat it so much. :-)

Lack of sleep, worrying nature, tensions are all complementary for this problem. Drop these things. Have good sleep. Stop worrying and give up tensions.
Then, you may regularly apply fresh milk mixed with turmeric and boiled potato pulp on the face.
Both these things together will show results in a fortnight's time.

Start by making an effort to go to sleep a little earlier. And here are some tips that I use to remove dark circles.
1. Damp some tea bags and put them in the freezer before you go to sleep. Then when you wake up, place them over your eyes(closed eyes)...That helps dark circles and puffiness.
2. Put 2 spoons in the freezer before you go to sleep and when you wake up place them over your eyes. (closed eyes)
