the skin swells some, and then sort of shrivels a bit, and it will get crusty looking for a while, just keep putting on the Neosporin or whatever they told you to use and give it some time, it will be fine.

ok first slow down, I am a professional tattooist, Is the tattoo actually falling out or is the skin just flaking? without seeing it It is hard to give you my professional opinion, if the ink is not completey falling out of the skin, it would sound as if it is healing normal to me, A tattoo should not scab if it is kept clean and has been applied well. it will begin to peel and flake. you should follow your tattoists advice on after-care proceedures. However, at this point in healing, I usually advise my clients to use a mild lotion like curell.

If your tattoo has other issues it may be a reaction to some of the pigments used in the tattoo inks, It is quite possible to have an allergic reaction.

If I could see pictures, I could give a better opinion.

good luck

there's a difference between the tattoo getting flaky or it comming off. the tattoo is NOT supposed to "scab" over like a scab on your knee after u fall down. you DONT want it to scab because then it'll fall off. so u need to keep it moist. if u have been doing this and it just looks like little black snowflakes, then ur fine. its part of the healing process. just keep taking care of it. but if its is falling off completely, then u haven't been taking care of it. if this is the case, pocket $8, go buy some aquaphor, put some on and then head to the nearest shop and ask them if its too late to save it. if so you'll have to get it redone, if not, just ask them for instructions on taking care of it anf u should be fine

never ever put neosporin, vaseline or any petroleum based ointment on a tattoo. use fragrance free lubridurm or curell or any other kind of good "no additives" lotion. pat dry when it's wet. the lotion should be applied at least a few times a day, especially toward the end of healing when it really starts itching. this is what keeps the color bright and new looking. the vaseline and neosporin and such as that takes color out of a tattoo.

its just like a sunburn, it will be crusty and peel, DO NOT PICK IT or you will lose coloration. put a white, unscented lotion 3 to 4 times a day for about a week and just wait for it all to flake off, if it fades, u can always go back and have them touch it up, most places do it for free, but be aware that getting it touched up does hurt a lot more, since they are filling in a place that is just like a fresh wound, so be prepared, but its not that bad, u will be alright :)

This happens often. Some people have the dna thread moronicus idioeso. When this dna thread is a dominate componant of someones blood stream and foriegn substances are introduced under the skin, it causes skin to react in a variety of ways such as crumbling, breaking, red warts, loss of large clumps of body hair and frequently impotence and genital warts.

Oddly a large majority of people who get tattoos have this gene defect.
