encourage him to use it and make it a fun and interesting thing, encourage him that he is a big boy. Don't rush into it
take it slowly step by step and he will get it.
Good luck!

Patience-lots of it. We read "Once upon a potty" over and over again for days. Then I put in a movie and started with the water-she sat on the potty for the whole movie. The 1st time she went she was a bit scared but once she got used to the feeling she was a natural and it was easy. It just took time and patience.

Why is he getting a potty? Is he READY to be potty trained? Why can't he sit on a regular toilet? Day cares/preschools/elementary schools don't provide "potties" what is going to happen when he needs to use a toilet and refuses to do so because it's not his "potty"?

There is an e-book about training in 3 days, I used it on my son, and just about everyone will tell u boys r worse. And in that first day he was running to the potty on his own by noon!!! I am not joking it was awesome!! Good Luck!

I painted little pictures on the potty lid, out and in. My boy wouldn't have anything to do with it until I did. I painted a baseball, a car, things I knew he liked and it did the trick.
