Take him to the park, if the weather is nice, maybe take two squirt guns, and have a water fight. If you don't like the guns, than any kind of water squirter would work. Ice Cream would be nice, but how about a mini picnic? Take his favorite things to eat. Playing at the park and letting him run and you chase him, or just let him have a ball on the swings and slide, etc.
I have a 3 year old grandson and he would love all of this.
At that age, going to the park is like heaven to them.

Go to a park and eat ice cream. Don't waste your time and money on something that doesn't create interaction between and your son. A movie is a terrible idea. Even if he enjoys it, it has nothing to do with you. Chuckie Cheese isn't much better, but at least there is a chance for interaction. And, interaction is what he'll remember and cherish.

You could go to Chuckie Cheese and spend some money then go to a park or get ice cream. Either would be fun.

Why not ask him which place and what activity he prefers out of those choices. Chucky Cheese is a nightmare, but if that's what'll make him happy, then go there. Same for the park and ice cream. Giving him a chance to pick what he really wants to do is what he'll cherish.

I think that the best thing that you could do for your son is to just play with him and let him laugh and run. They are very simple at that age. If you just took him out in the back yard or a park. Let him throw a ball, teach him to play catch and let him know emotionally that he is secure and special. But play WITH him, don't just be a watcher. Don't just take him to a playground and let him run around.Save that for a less special time when you don't have the time or energy to give him.
And of course, ice cream as the culmination of the event is a great ending! LOL and enjoy your son. They grow up too fast.

Take him to the park on the playground or just run around with him a little bit. Little boys love stuff like that. It also wears them out so that they'll sleep at night. I wouldn't give him too much ice cream. It's not the healthiest stuff in the world, but if you want to, it's your child. Make sure whatever he does gives him exercise.

Ugh! I can't stand Chucky Cheese!!!!! I would much rather go run around the park.
What my family did is get family passes to the local zoo and children's museum. They run for a year and usually after your second visit with the family pass it has already paid for itself... so you pretty much go for free the rest of the year. It comes in handy at the end of the month when you have paid all your bills and don't have much $$$ for entertainment.

A rich child often sits in a poor mothers lap
why not explore a local park or library?
Maybe go to the local produce store and learn colors by picking out fruits and vegetables?
why not pack a picnic lunch and relax together in a nice shady spot...
the possibilities are endless, there is no need to spend a dime when all you want is quality time. go for activities that give you and your child "togetherness time" time without all the hustle and bustle of distracting games and treats. My favorite thing to do with my son is to makie a giant mess in the kitchen by having him "help" me cook treats, he is two and I let him stir the batter, or pour in the water, that sort of thing. happy "holiday"

park & ice cream sounds great. 3 year olds love to run. All he wants is time with you, and to move! The park is perfect for this age!

Well, it really depends on personal preference. I think the park sounds like a fun idea. Little kids tend to like the park. Maybe try a petting zoo type thing, unless he is too little. Or you could go to an aquarium to see all the fishys. Have Fun!!!
