So I got this job doing customer service at a small business, where theres only 3 employess including myself, (5 persons total if you include my two bosses). Anyway..... Its been my second week and already, one of my bosses told me that I will be responsive for cleaning the bathroom. (I said to my self, theres no way I will scrub anybody's bathroom). I told her that, I was hire for doing customer service and not cleaning, she said that me and "mary" will take turns cleaning the bathroom BUT.. I know this will not happend like this since "mary" always leaves earlier, so I know she will not clean anything. IN the end, I just pretended to clean the bathroom, the only thing that I clean was the floors, but hell no, i will not scrub no toilet

I just hate the idea, of cleaning the bathroom since I dont even clean the bathroom at my house. What would you do if you were in my situation? Is the boss way out of place by asking this?

I would not be happy about it, but I would clean the bathroom, if that's what is needed to be done. There are only 5 of you in the office, so it won't get that dirty. If it does, make an issue out of it. Come out of the bathroom and announce that someone doesn't know where the waste basket is or slopped water all over the counter. Everyone should clean up after themselves after they use the bathroom, that's just polite.

They can have whomever they have clean the rest of the building clean the bathroom. If that was really part of your duties (and I doubt if that is in any other customer service job) you should have been told in the beginning. You don't have anything invested in this place. Quit and find another job.

well i am hoping someone at your house does clean the bathroom it's up to you if you can afford to quit and don't want to deal with it that is your call, but most jobs will include a task you may not like so are you going to quit every job??

OK princess, you gotta do what you gotta do. If you can afford to quit your job and waste time finding another one, then you go right ahead.

Who even cleans your bathroom?
