well my brother is trying real hard too.
He joined a performing arts magnet school.
he acts in the community plays.
he is in choir to improve his vocals
he is also in dance
all of this can be done in high school and look good on a reseme or anything else and it is free
if you are out of highschool i suggest you find a performing arts classes to take .
he is also in drama class........that has improved him a lot
the harder he works and the longer he does it the better he continues to get.
u can too!

Well, the best way is probably to stay in school and get a degree in Musical Theater. However, you can start on off-Broadway plays and work your way up. You need to be able to sing in Latin, French, and Italian, and know at least two types of dance. Work on projection and body language and gestures. It takes work, but it is totally worth it.

I would suggest starting small, taking voice/dance/acting lessons and auditioning for off-broadway shows before actually heading to NY.

Most dancers take ballet, tap and jazz dance from a young age.
You didn't say how old you are. One must be an excellent singer, dancer to be chosen for Broadway.
