The term "Allah" simply means "the [one] god", implying a single Almighty deity reminiscent of the Judeo-Christian "Yahweh" / "Jehovah". However, it is significant that "Allah" is clearly NOT a personal name, while the Hebrew Tetragrammaton clearly *IS* a personal name for Almighty God.
It's not exactly wrong to call the Almighty by the impersonal "God", just as it's not wrong to call one's offspring "Child". Faithful men of the Holy Scriptures used both "God" and a form of "Jehovah" when they referred to and addressed the Almighty. However, the term "Allah" seems intended specifically to reject Judeo-Christian spiritual heritage.
If we want a familiar and close relationship, it makes sense to use the personal name of someone we love. The Scriptures encourage us to use God's personal name.
The Hebrew name “Yahweh” (or “Yehowah”) does seem to accurately pronounce the divine name. Just as the Hebrew name “Yeshua” (or “Yehoshua”) is translated into “Jesus” in English, the Hebrew name “Yahweh” is translated into “Jehovah” in English.
The important thing is to use God’s personal name in whatever language you speak, rather than insisting upon the impersonal! The name “Yahweh” is certainly preferable to the non-name “God” or “Lord”, especially if you speak Hebrew. If you speak English, feel free to use the name "Jehovah".
(Psalms 83:18) That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth
(John 17:26) [Jesus said] I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them

I have asked this question before. Jews say no God is Jehovah. Muslims will only respond that there is no God but Allah. They avoid the question because they are taught that Allah and Jehovah are not the same. If a muslims does actually say Jehovah and Allah are the same that muslim is not very educated on his belief.

Allah is the same thing that Christian call God .. it means .. "The God" in Arabic ..
Muslims prefer to use it as the word itself can't be changed to anything else ..
i.e God can be put in so many forms .. God , Goddess , Godfather ..
you just can't do anything like that with the word Allah in arabic or any other language ..
but generally it is the same thing that Christian and Muslims believe in .. I don't know about the Judaism but I believe it is the same there too ...
also Allah in Arabic means The Only God ,
in Arabic the believe the word itself it has many miracles
i.e you can say it without moving your lips and other things like that ..
the whole dilemma is that some Muslims specifically Arabs insist on saying the word Allah instead of God , but I don't thing this is necessary ..

Yes, Allah is the same God as Jehovah. Allah is the Arabic word for God. Allah is the same God of Abraham, who is the father of the Jews, Christians, and Muslims.

How is utilising a popularity of the week derived from the call of a god honoring that god? Do you think of making a comedian approximately Thor honors the god Thor? That naming convention is a Northern ecu ingredient. In Romantic language conversing international locations, the days of the week named after the planets. it is a subculture ingredient. Do you rather think of Christians ought to call the days of the week some thing diverse than what all of us else us utilising?

No way, no how. Allah is a murdering, emotionless, false idol according to his crazy followers who kill innocents indiscriminately, even their own people and fellow muslims. With this kind of philosophy, I'd say in a few years at this rate, they will no longer be a threat. They'll have killed each other off. Exactly what is the attraction of a god who wants nothing to do with you,and pays no attention to you? Jehovah is a loving, caring God, who gave His own son to die for us, so that we could be with Him in eternity.
Jehovah is the Father of Jesus Christ, the salvation of the world.

Nope
Allah is the moon god, he had three daughters. When M decided to go monotheist, he chose the moon god and then decided to say there were no daughters. (the satanic verses refer to verses about the daughters of allah....M literally said, oh, the devil made me recite those verses, I take them back)
The mixup with Jehovah came cuz Ms first wife was a Christian and M had contact with some Christains and Jews so he borrowed heavily from those other monotheistic traditions
Allah is the arab word for "god" generically, so arab Christians also say "allah" but it has the different meaning. Of course, the Muslims and Mohammed himself would say they are the same, but given the historical facts and different characteristics....they are not.

Is there some sort of plot to ask this question in exactly the same words week after week? I even use the same answer:
Allies of the Koran and Yahweh of the Bible are not the same.

Yes! Allah is the Qur'anic Arabic name for Almighty God.
Where this "moon god" mess came from, the Muslim community could care less about that. Almighty God Allah is The Creator of the moon. And the sun, stars, planets, and other heavenly bodies.
