Sounds like it is time to see a licensed psychologist that is with a practice that includes a psychiatrist. The anxiety you are experiencing may be reduced with counseling and perhaps some medication. Anxiety can increase blood pressure and vise versa.
Also, you need to learn relaxation technqiues and a good psychologist can easily help you in this area. You may want to read up on progressive relaxation or go to www.webmd.com
Besides family history/genetics, hypertension can be rooted in stress related to finances, a job, a marriae, etc. Go see a licensed psychologist

See stress and anxiety at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on pages 7 & 6, and practise one of the 5 relaxation exercises on page 2 daily (read the whole page). Stop using salt, and use one of the "no sodium" types in supermarkets 50/50 with IODISED salt, in small amounts, and replace with sweet 'n sour, hot 'n spicy, curries, etc. Use lo salt, or no added salt versions, and check labels. Aim for a reduction of 70% to 90% (A LITTLE salt is necessary!). Also use fish oil supplements. Convert your family, as the results become clear, give them facts and methods, but don't be pushy!

Go to a doctor. High blood pressure can make you anxious. It happened to me before.

see your doctor but also walking early in the morning at least 30 mins before you start the day can do wonders for your nerves and energy. it justs helps to clear your head and also easy up on heavy,greasy foods.
