He is a scottish fold almost 8 years old. He's had blood work done...all come back normal. Sometimes when he throws up it's pinkish. The vet said that it's not blood. He's been great for quite a while now, and I haven't had to give him any medication. But yesterday he started up again. He threw up a lot once, and several times it was just like a pinkish mucus. I know he ate last night and kept it down, but he has since threw up at least a dozen times all with the pinkish mucus. I gave him his medicine earlier today which he kept down, but several hours later he threw up again. I haven't seen him eat or drink, but I am checking him for dehydration (seems ok.) Has anyone ever heard of something like this? He's had x-rays and an endoscope and blood work ups. They never find anything wrong. I don't believe that it's nerves either. The pink mucus is concerning, and I'm afraid that I'll have to put him down soon because of the cost/cleaning constantly. Please help! Thank you!

Have you had him checked for allergies? I had a Cornish Rex that used to throw up all the time, finally the vet suggested checking for allergies...bingo, she was allergic to almost everything on this earth....ended up giving her canned venison and canned duck cat food...no more problems.

I have a cat that has been throwing up since she was a kitten... I've taken her to many vets & this last one, after doing many tests tried Durlactin which u can order online from 1 800 Pet Meds.. but it didn't help all the time. This last time I saw my Vet he suggested a feline cat food that ONLY the vets offer from Royal Cainne ( Royal Cainne will sell some of their products at pet stores but u can only buy this thru the vet) called Intesinal HE... by George it has been working.

Now I had anthr cat that as he got older he would throw up mucus... My vet recommended the same thing as 1 else stated .... Pecid 1/4 to 1/2 tablet daily. He stopped. She said it was from them lying down then the byle in their stomach would get upset & they would throw up. She also recommened that I could feed my cats HUMAN baby food.. chicken & turkey ONLY> b/c of the amuine (sp) ingredient that helps w/ healing. Like take chix soup when u'r sick. It works. But watch the sodium intake b/c then they can have those problems. But it's better than no food at all.

It could b a allergy but I'm aiming for digestive or intestinal problems. Some cats jst have them.

end with the flowery ceremonial dinner and 9 Lives - it is barely loaded with loads of issues the cat has no desire of - foodstuff coloring, articial flavorings, plus a destructive high quality meat source. attempt some cans of well-being - the common ones like fowl and turkey. stay removed from pink meat or fish good now. merely test and notice how he does. each 15 twelve months previous cat ought to have a vet examination, a blood panel run to verify how significant organs are functioning. So get that completed as quickly as you may. do no longer enable the vet "sell" you on any of their ingredients. well-being is an exceptionally respected style and maximum of what's interior the can is merely meat.

Have you changed his diet? It sounds like it could be an allergy. Maybe he is eating something to upset his stomach, a change of cat food? Milk as a snack? Maybe he's eating grass or cat nip? Gotten into the trash? Sometimes even when pets aren't truly allergic to something, a sudden change in diet can cause a reaction. I'd watch closely to be sure he's not getting something that is too hard on his stomach, especially because he is getting older. Good Luck!

I would see another vet.. Get your current vet to release your records to a new vet so that he can see results of testing that has been done.. 8 years old is still young for a cat.. I wouldn't put up with no answer, I would want to know something after that length of time.

I agree with the possibility of a feed allergy. If you have not changed the food, then he could have built up a tolerance for it. It sounds a lot like a sensitive stomach to me. I purchased the cat grass that you grow for cats and it seemed to help with Junior's sensitive stomach. Is it possible that he is trying to get up a furball? You might want to try some furball medicine. Also, for cleanup. Purchase a cleaner with live enzymes in it for urine. Yes, they work for vomit also. Anyway, they will eat the waste and clean up most stains in carpet and upholstery. If all else fails call the vet.

Try slowly introducing a food for older cats, this may be a digestive issue. You may want to give your cat some "nutri-cal"this is a paste for ill cats,it is high in nutrients. This may help with lost nutrients due to vomiting. Also change vets, get second opinion. He could have developed an allergy to his food.Hope this helps good luck.

the only other thing i could think of is what are you feeding him? avoid corn, wheat, soy, byprodcuts. bht, bha, artificial colors and preservatives...he may have an allergy to those or maybe even the main meat in the food you are feeding him. www.eaglepack.com has a duck and oatmeal formula that worked wonders for my pucky and very loose stool cat. it has naturally occuring digestive enzymes in there that help ease the stomach and digestive tracts...id give them a check out if i were you cause you have tried everything else and nothing else is wrong.

CONSULT ANOTHER VET! Your vet is obviously overlooking something and this does sound like something you want to have going on much longer or the cat's life may be at risk. Good luck!

P.S. Does your cat go outside? Are they any toxins it may be getting into?

Actually, believe it or not, it's acid reflux. My cat was having the same issue. At the advice of my vet, we started giving him 1/4 of a 10mg Pepcid tablet once a day. Problem alleviated.
