Reincarnation?

Why is reincarnation against christian beleifs? I was talking about it in CCD and the teacher yelled at me.

Sorry that she yelled at you( or did she just correct you?)
Christians don't believe that we have to be recycled like soda cans or that we are a little piece of god( or an eternal self that is God) that has to get back home and be absorbed like a rain drop in the ocean.
We believe that each person is a unique everlasting soul made in God's image and will not be made tocome back here eventually to get purified enough( that is what purgatory is for). We will always be our individual selves but fulfilled in Heaven (if we die in union with god in His grace,that is).
We believe in the Incarnation( of God in Christ) and in our own at our conception/creation. We believe in Jesus' resurrection and our own on the Last Day as immortal bodies and fulfilled souls.

Because most Christians believe you get one life to perfect yourself and that's it, then you get judged.

Although reincarnation lets God give you many chances to perfect yourself to the level that He expects, and that's a more loving interpretation isn't it? It can be said that Jesus was reincarnated all the way down from Adam to Jesus Himself... the first Adam and the last Adam yes? But that's just another interpretation.

No reincarnation isn't bad... it's just another interpretation, and I can see where that interpretation comes from, whether or not I subscribe to it as a Christian.

If the teacher yelled at you about it, that shows you how ridiculous that place is. Don't stand being yelled at, whether or not reincarnation is real. You deserve respect.

Your teacher is not very secure in his/her belief. To be threatened by reincarnation is not very confidence building for his/her students.
