OK. Right now, I have a 1994 Honda Passport that's on it's last leg. Today, it died in the middle of the road and a week ago, it got into an accident. I keep repairing it and so on, but no matter what, it still breaks down. So, I've decided that it's time for a new SUV. I was thinking about the Lexus GX470 and the Lincoln Navigator, but I've decided that I want a boat or a motorcycle also and if I buy the Lexus or Lincoln with the boat or motorcycle, it will cost almost $70 grand, way above my limit. So, I need to go a little less expensive on the SUV, but I don't know what I want.
HERE'S WHAT I WANT IN THE SUV...
- WOOD TRIM
- LEATHER SEATS
- DVD PLAYER
- SUNROOF
HERE'S WHAT I DON'T WANT...
- NONE OF THAT HYBRID TECHNOLOGY CRAP
- NO CHICK CARS!!!
- NO JEEP
- NO TOYOTA!!!!!!

If you want something pretty amazing. A great look, a great ride, a great engine. Go with the brand new Acura MDX.
It's one of the best SUVs out there, especially for the money.

I think you'd be really happy with it. Check it out on www.acura.com

You were thinking of a Navigator. If you really want something the same size, why not go with the Ford Expedition. It's the same basics but with less luxury. But you can option it until you reach your limit. If you really want something big, its a great choice.

And last choice if you want a big SUV. Nissan Armada. I don't see that many around but if you are a big SUV lover, that could be a great japanese choice.

Good luck in your search.

First off, the Lexus GX470 is a Toyota. It's based off of the 4Runner. So before you go running out to the Lexus dealer, give a loaded 4Runner a drive. You may not see much of a difference;)

Also, may I suggest a Honda Pilot? Or perhaps a Hyundai Veracruz? Both are excellent values, can be bought for far under $40,000 brand new, and feature all the latest in airbags and electronic nannies.

Neither the GX470 or the Navigator can be had for under $40,000 brand new, so you can just rule those out.

If you're seeking a sportier flair, the Infiniti FX35 may be worth a look. Then again, it'll be hard to keep the price under $40,000.
There's also the Nissan Murano SE, Mazda CX-9, GMC Acadia SLT, Saturn Outlook XR. The list could go on forever, but those are the best in class vehicles. And you can get wood and leather in all of them, along with a sunroof and DVD player.

I think you would like a Mazda CX-9. Sure, it's a re-badged ford Edge, but it looks frickin great iniside and it had 265 HP. Most all of these cars get crap gas mileage, but the Honda Pilot does ok for 255 HP and a big wheelbase. You shoudl be able to get woodgrain and such in both of these vehicles.

Wood , leather, DVD, sunroof ?! I can see you have your priorities in line! How about towing capacity, reliability, value, warranty??
I would recommend the Honda Pilot. What you had was a re-badged Isuzu, this is a TRUE Honda! Or if you want 395 horsepower you could get a Trailblazer SS with it's Vette engine

truthfully look on the 1999-2002 selection rovers, maximum of them have respectable mileage and a lot of effective properties like navigation, air suspension, locking differentials, adjustable suspension, cruise administration, etc. you will no longer discover a greater able or luxury vehicle everywhere else on your budget. reliability is optimal on the 2000-02 fashions truly than ninety seven-99s, that are reported to be questionable.

navigator is an expedition with extra crap on it.

some of those extras are very nice, but dvd, leather and all that is available with the ford variant.

NO GM!!! well, you could buy a GM but its a waste of money.
