It can be a deceased person that you knew, like a Grandparent, but not someone from the past whom you never met.
I would have to say it is my older sister. We have grown apart, as time has passed. But I love her dearly.

My grandmother. She passed away in December of last year, but I love her so much. She was one of the very few Christians who practiced what she preached, and I never ever heard her say one bad thing about anybody else. Not even my worthless father. She accepted me as is. I miss her so very much, and I at times I still can't believe she's gone. We didn't always see eye to eye on everything, and there were arguments and fights, but she never loved me any less. She loved me more because I stood up for what I believed, and that was something she had taught me. Okay, I can't say anymore, I always start to cry when I talk about her.

I cannot say just one person. People I love here on this earth or the ones gone from here, I love different but cannot say one love is more than the other. I feel very strongly connected to my mother she is also a great friend . If anyone I say my mother. I have one brother and he was like my son to me. I had a child I gave up for adoption at 17 and my brother was born the next year. I have been very close to him and now we have grown apart and I just miss him so much. I could really relate when I read your question. I accept this as life cycle and try to be happy for what we had and still share.

There are three people in my life that I hold dearest. My Mother and Father, and my soon to be husband. My parents and I did not get along well at all when I was younger, and over the years our relationship grew even more distant. But in the past two years we have come together as a family overcoming the deaths of both of their fathers, and other personal tragedies. We rallied together and are now closer to each other than we have ever been all our lives, and I thank God for that.
My fiance, I could never imagine my life without him. He won his way into my heart with his compassion, love and deep understanding. He was there for me through the most difficult time in my life, when I had no one else, he was there. And you know, this amazing man, thanks me for giving him the chance to love me...He thanks ME! I could never in my life thank him enough for all his support and love, my heart is truly humbled, I am blessed.

I love all people rather I know them or not, do hearts have "dearest places" or just different types of love and different levels of love? I love all, but not the same. The people who I love enough to give my life for are Jesus , my husband and my two children, but I love them all in different ways. It (love) is a very complex thing.

I'm in my 50s and fortunate to still have both of my parents living; I'm also happily married with kids and grandkids, not to mention several beloved siblings. So this is a tough one. But I'd have to say that my mother, who is also my dearest friend, is closest to my heart.

For a living person: Jesus Christ, my Savior and the lover of my soul, who was willing to be persecuted for my sake, and for whose sake I am now willing to be persecuted for.

For a deceased person: My great-grandma Evans. She passed down to me my love and talent for music. I even have her old piano that she used to play for Christmases!

Then there's my mom, my dad, my two sisters.......

My father. He's 80, and is the most decent man I've ever known. I strive to be like him, but I haven't reached the top of that mountain, yet.

My partner. She is the most compassionate, giving and patient individual in the world. On top of that, she's beautiful. On top of THAT, she loves ME. Go figure!

I think your sister is a very lucky woman. :-)
