On what side is the tassel supposed to hang (left back, right back, left front, right front)?

Also, when the caps are thrown in the air, how high, and do we pick them up right after they land, can we catch them in mid air before they land?

Is the medallion supposed to be worn at all times?

The cap must be worn so it looks like a you could set a glass of water on top. I remember during my graduation, many of the girl's caps were pushed back so their hair wouldn't get mussed, but they looked ridiculous.
Different schools have their own rules about the tassel. They are sure to coach you before you walk.
Some schools do not throw hats, for safety reasons. Mine didn't. I hope your school has a little more fun than mine did.

My husband's grandfather used to wear a hat all the time. If he was in an elevator and I got on, or some other woman got on, he would take it off. He always tipped his hat to the ladies. I knew an attorney who wore a straw hat all of the time. Men used to wear hats and tip them or take them off when going inside or to a lady. I never thought anything about it until this question. Thanks for the memories.
