What would be the appropriate size curling irons to make each of the three following curly hairstyles? (The ones available are: 3/8", 5/8", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2"):

1 1/4 medium barrel iron will work.hold the barrel vertical and wrap 1 inch sections of hair around it.hold for 3 or 4 seconds,slide your hair off and apply hair spray to hold the style...very nice choices...love the hair!:)

Picture 1 use can use a 1" curling iron. it is basic spiral start at the end and roll around iron each time you roll make it line up with the roll prier.
Pic 2 you can use a 1"-1 1/4" it is the same technique just not so tight. When the curl is done separate a little.
Pic 3 is probably a 1 1/2" - 2" the hair is long so the weight of the hair is what makes that style. Curl like above then separate with fingers or brush out. If you use a spray gel on the piece before you curl it it will dry slower and hold the curl.

1 1/2 inch is the way to go or even the 2 inch

okay, #3 #2 is perfect,i love avril lavingn,but this time i wasn't looking at her face but at her curls! p.s. you need big curlers or a revlon "small curling iron."you go !

those styles are not done with curling tongs for a start
her hair has been permed first, then tongs are used on it
