It seems like all these people are claiming they know so much about Mormons, when they are wrong and they won't except what the right answer is from real Mormons who know what they belive in such as:

People say Mormons are not Christians, when if you ask one, they'll say the do believe in Christ and that is why their full name is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

People say Mormons practice Polygamy when if ask one, they'll say no and any Mormon who does gets excomunicated.

People say Joseph Smith was a treasure hunter, when if you ask a real Mormon who would know, they would say he isn't.

Also people say all this stuff about how the Book of Mormon is not true, when they haven't even read it themself!

Why are some people so stubborn not to believe the truth about Mormons from a real Mormon?

Because real Mormons lie like a dog, didn't you know that?

When you want someone to believe what you are saying about someone else, the first thing you need to do is to make sure that they don't believe the someone else. The first thing you would say is "These people are going to lie and tell you what you want to hear, I am going to tell you the truth".

That's what anti-Mormons do, they say "Mormons lie" or some variation of that theme. and since most of them are pastors of one type or another, then non-LDS Christians would say "Why would HE lie?"

I have read the book of Mormon, but if you are honest you will admit that Mormons can not defend their faith from the book of Mormon because it was take from scripture and actually supports classic trinitarian Christianity.

The Christ in which the Mormon believes is not the same Christ that Christians believe in. Mormons believe that Elohim came to earth from his planet/realm to have physical sexual relations (rape) with an unmarried Jewish virgin to produce a physical child who you believe to be the brother of Satan.

Christians believe the Holy Spirit caused Mary, an engaged woman to become pregnant, encouraged Joseph to take her as his wife anyway because it was miraculous and God's will, and Satan is a fallen created creature not just one of the family.

Mormons technically gave up the practice of polygamy so that they could attain statehood. Some fringe groups do still practice it , and as in any faith group, the radicals are the ones who get the press and if it's salacious people remember it.

Of course you would say that Joseph Smith wasn't a treasurer hunter, so what is your defense? And what would be bad about that anyway.

There is no historic, archaeological or physical evidence that supports anything in the Book of Mormon or the Pearl of
Great Price, except of course those parts of the BoM that were taken from the Bible which in contrast has vast amounts of forensic proofs for those who need that. And Science is proving more and more every day that the history in the Christian Bible is accurate.

Every Mormon believes that "As man is, God once was;
as God is, man may be." In other words Mormons are at their core poly theists, believing in many gods.

Elohim you will tell me then is the god of this world which opens up a whole new conversation doesn't it?

The Christian God is the one true and living God, and he says so over and over again to make it clear.

I wonder how you interpret Isaiah 46:8-9
"Remember this, fix it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels, Remember the former things, those of long ago - I am God and there is no other. I am God and there is none like me."

I do believe that you believe what the church teaches you is true and I'm sorry that you are offended that "they" have a different opinion, but until you can make a case other that one of empirical evidence, not just the "oh yeah!" defense, as long as there are such radical differences, you're going to have problems with differing opinions, and if people take their faith seriously they will have an opinion, have no doubt.

You expect a real Mormon would not be totally biased? Btw, I used to be one.

The peculiar beliefs of Mormons (LDS) put them outside of mainstream Christianity, and like the JWs, and other cults, they claim to be the only true Christians. If you have read the Book of Mormon, maybe you have read that dream or vision of Nephi's which revealed there were only two churches, the true church of Christ and the church of the Devil. Since the Mormons are the former, all of the others, (Protestant, Catholic, etc.) have to be the latter. Or am I taking that out of context?

Polygamy is now mostly practiced by small splinter groups of so-called Fundamentalist Mormons. They now claim to be the true church, and that the LDS church is apostate, since they have rejected Joseph's holy revelation about "plural marriage". This revelation is still in their Doctrine and Covenants. If God revealed it to Joseph, why was it later done away with? Pressure! They LDS church caved in and wrote it out of their official doctrines because the US government opposed it so strongly.

As a young man, before he became a prophet, Joseph and his family did do some treasure hunting. He had a seer stone, which he claimed he could put in his hat and see treaure hidden in the earth, kind of like Superman's X-ray vision. No, they never did actually dig up any, for all the digging that they did, but this is a matter of historical record and there is proof of this, if you are open to proof.

Lots of people have read the Book of Mormon and concluded that it is not true and could not possibly be true, and have been good enough to give their reasons. Modern DNA research has provided even more proof that the Lamanites (American "Indians") have no connection with any people from Palestine, so that alone should throughly debunk the BoM.

Okay, that is why I am so stubborn as to not to believe the Mormons. I am sure you will have other detailed answers.

If you want to read a good book about Joseph Smith, I highly recommend "No Man Knows My History", by Fawn Brodie. She was excommunicated for writing this frank biography of their founder. She was a Mormon at the time she wrote it, so there is the truth about Mormons from a real Mormon.

Of course DNA evidence is relevant. Look at what the B of M clearly states and what LDS prophets have proclaimed. Gordon Hinckley said, "It has been a very interesting thing to see the descendants of Father Lehi in the congregations that have gathered in the temple," Hinckley said at an August 1999 temple dedication in Ecuador. "So very many of these people have the blood of Lehi in their veins, and it is just an intriguing thing to see their tremendous response and their tremendous interest." Trouble is, there is no blood of Lehi in their veins. Hinckley was wrong. Consider this statement in a "Special Lamanite Section" in a 1971 edition of the Ensign, an official publication of the LDS Church. "As we attempt to solve the complex puzzle we call life, there is a constant search for elements that will clarify the picture. For [Mormons] one of the keys to this great pattern of existence is the group of people known as Lamanites. Those not of the church call these people Indians, although the term actually refers to a broader group than that. Most members of the church know that the Lamanites, who consist of the Indians of all of the Americas as well as the islanders of the Pacific, are a people with a special heritage." This simply isn't true. Their heritage is mostly asian, and not a drop of Hebrew in them. The Book of Mormon's title page, a supposed literal translation, said it was written to the Lamenites. Both of them? Do you see how ridiculous the limited geography, limited genetic expansion arugment is? So if your prophets and teachings taught something that isn't right, why not just fess up and say, we screwed up, we're clueless, there are no Lamenites, but we still want to hold on to the story that the Book of Mormon is an actual historical document. Peace. But please don't pretend your church hasn't claimed that native americans are primarily descendents of the Lamenites, a group of people included in the Book of Mormon.

Well... it is always fun to see answers from people that "think" they are educated in Mormon beliefs. So many of their claims are so easily answered if they choose to look into it. For instance... to address :)

I know enough to know i have yet to see a female mormon proselytize

Sexist religion. Used to be racist..probably still is. I recall skimming the mormon book years ago. I think they described their gawd as a 6 or 7ft dude kickin it on a cloud

We have hundreds of female missionaries out in proselytizing on a daily basis. If we are such a sexist religion why is it we have the largest womens organization in the world? Why is it we teach that all household decisions should come from both spouses input? I'm wondering how you state we are racist since we have missionaries and members in every country that will allow our missionaries in? Oh.. go back to the begining of the church? Yeah, Members of the church were persecuted due to their stand that slavery should be abolished. And no, Heavenly Father does not... "kick it on a cloud"... unless he wants to. The belive in God the Father, and in His Son Jesus Christ... yes the same Jesus Christ as you will find in the Bible, that died on the cross for our sins. This is the Same Jesus Christ that visited the people in the America's after His resurection.

John 10:16 - "And other sheep I have, that are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd,

Sure, you can read the Book of Mormon like any other book out there cover to cover. If you really want to know about it study it a little bit, with an unbiased assumption. Many do which is why The LDS church is the fastest growing church on the planet. With just over 12 million members from it's original four members just under 200 years ago.

Woah Woah!!!! great question. Let's see anti-Mormons, how do you answer this one?
If you don't read the book then you will never know what our religion is like. BUT if you only read books in which you can only read crap about the religion then you will never ever understand because these things are fake, wrote by people that has any knowledge about the LDS church.
I am a Mormon and will always be a Mormon and I'm so happy about it. I know that this church is true, that the BoM is true and that JS was a true prophet.
Duuuuuuh! we are christians, we believe in Jesus.

I'm a Mormon and I love Jesus Christ. I know that He is the Son of God. I believe the Bible is the Word of God. My life has been changed so much since becoming a member of the Church 2 years ago. I feel more alive and happy. I feel a lot more love for life and for my fellow beings. I love the Word of God contained in the Book of Mormon. I feel ten times better after reading it than before I started. It is the Word of God too. People say so many bad things about the Prophet of the Restoration, Joseph Smith. But I see this as a fulfillment of the prophecy that his name shall be spoken of for good and ill throughout the entire world. That prophecy is obviously not completely fulfilled but just look at how many members of the Church we have in the world who know of Joseph Smith! There are more members outside the U.S. than in it. I struggled with the idea that Mormons once practiced polygamy. But then I read the Old Testament! It's obvious that God once allowed it. God even says to David that he gave him his master's (Saul's) wives into his bosom! Would God give a man more than one wife if (at THAT time) it was wrong to do? So it's obvious that monogamy is the rule and plural marriage is the exception (when God commands his servants to raise up seed unto Him). I have no problem now whatsoever with the fact that GOD COMMANDED Joseph Smith to practice plural marriage and then GOD COMMANDED Wilford Woodruff to issue that manifesto discontinuing the practice. Obviously the purpose of the commandent for plural marriage was completed or God would not have discontinued it. Do you know how many more Mormons there were because of the pratice of plural marriage from the time Joseph Smith received the revelation and commenced it to the time Wilford Woodfruff received a divine revelation to discontinue it as God commanded him?

I know that God lives. I know that Jesus is the Christ and the Redeemer of Mankind. I love Him so much. I am deeply hurt when another Christian, my brother or sister, says I am not a Christian. I am! God bless you. Thanks for asking this question. I end this in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord, My Redeemer, my Savior.

Yours Truly,

Arthur :)

You wrote, "People say Mormons are not Christians, when if you ask one, they'll say the do believe in Christ and that is why their full name is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints."

We don't dispute the fact that you believe in Jesus Christ. It's just that the Jesus Christ you believe in is not the Christian Jesus Christ, but some other Jesus Christ, known only to Mormons ( and perhaps Jehovah's Wirnesses) ... who is a creature, and the brother of Satan.

And because of this alone, none of the other stuff you mentioned really matters.

I don't care if Mormons are considered Christians or not, you believe in Christ, call yourself a Christian who cares what anyone else says, is that really important?

People say the polygamy stuff, either as a joke, they are very misinformed, or confusion with the FLDS church or other sects who practice polygamy.

Who cares?

I KNOW THE BOOK OF MORMON IS NOT TRUE

AND yes I read it!

Just 3 questions:

1. Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is both the Son of God and God the Son?(That Jesus is God,himself)

2. Do Mormons believe that as God is,man may become.?(that men may become Gods...and that Adam the first man is God.
3. Do Mormons believe in grace by faith in the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ and that his shed blood covers our sin?
