93% of all animal tests can be duplicated in petri dishes. this has been proven repeatedly. And a drug's reaction on humans can not be accurately determined until it is actually given to a human. There are hundreds of programs that pay people to take experimental drugs to test their results. And there is no shortage of volunteers. I did this myself with a new smallpox vaccine 2 years ago.

Maybe we should be focusing a bit on prevention and finding ways to live healthier lives instead of relying more and more on artificial drugs for every little ailment.
Have you ever read the "Contraindications and Warnings" for any drug - the side effects sound worse than the condition being treated.
But if we have to have more drugs (and produce drug-resistant microbes that just make things worse, etc.) then I am for testing on humans. There have been a number of animal tests for drugs done that appeared safe, but when the drugs were given to people the consequences were dangerous and in some cases deadly.

PETA has pious intentions. But animal tests are inevitable in medical research.

PETA are a bunch of hypocrites. One of the highest members of the organization has Diabetes and takes insulin shots to stay alive.
